"Welcome back!"

"Thank you!" Phoenix waved to a random member of the crew as she walked around, catching up with everyone. Today was the first day back on set since the break in filming and everyone seemed to be genuinely happy and jolly for the most part. It felt like the first day of summer camp when you're reunited with the friends you hadn't seen all summer. The only different for Phoenix was the fact that there was one face in particular that she really just didn't want to see. The possibility of bumping into Chris made her skin crawl.

After a week of mourning her relationship, Phoenix finally ran out of tears to cry and was afraid that if she showed any emotion toward him other than anger, she would fall apart. She was still hurting tremendously but decided she wouldn't go back on her decision to end things so as long as it lead to Chris getting the family he always wanted in the end.

"PHOENIX!"

"Holy fuck!" Phoenix clutched her chest at the sight of Tom and Paul Rudd walking towards her. "I'm going to have a fucking heart attack!"

"Phoenix!" Tom repeated once he was in her vicinity. He gave her a quick hug before gesturing toward the man he brought over: Paul Rudd. "Paul, Phoenix. Phoenix, Paul."

"Oh my god, it's Paul Rudd." She blurted, paying homage to Tom's iconic 'oh my god, it's Robert Downey Jr.' moment. "I would give you a kidney."

Paul laughed as he reached out to shake her hand. "Nice to meet you, Phoenix."

"I'm shaking your hand too long." She quoted his line in Civil War which perfectly summed up how she was feeling. It was as if her hand had a mind of its own and she couldn't stop. "I've waited 22 years to meet my ageless KING."

"Oh you're too kind." Paul smiled. "I've heard a lot of good things about you from Elizabeth, Hemmy, Mackie and Evans."

"Evans?" Phoenix repeated. "Interesting."

"He said you love a stan or something about Stan? Stan Lee?"

"No Paul, she STANS you." Tom corrected. "It means she-"

"It just means I'm a fan." Phoenix downplayed. That would give you my first born child, she added silently.

"She wants to give you her first born child." Tom quoted what she'd said almost every time Paul's name was brought up.

Phoenix nudged him roughly. "Really Tom?"

"Good thing she doesn't want kids." He added. "No Darth Phoenix Jr's to give away."

"Darth Phoenix?" Paul chuckled. "Should I be scared of you?  You're not like the bane of evilness or anything, right?"

"Should I be scared of YOU?" Phoenix reversed. "You're not like a vampire who drinks human blood to keep yourself from aging, right?"

"I'm 80 on the inside living in a void of darkness." He joked. "You might be right, Darth."

"You might be right about me being the bane of evilness, Vampire."

"Heads up." Tom nudged Phoenix as Chris and Mackie came from around the corner and into view. She tried her hardest to avoid making eye contact with Chris, which seemed easy enough since he was too engaged in his conversation to notice her. It had been much easier to avoid him through text messages however, actually seeing him in person made it tough to keep a brave face. The very first thing Phoenix noticed was that his beard was gone. And because Chris spent the entire Infinity War film with his iconic beard, Phoenix had never actually seen him without it.

"It was great to meet you, Paul." Phoenix forced a smile and shook his hand one last time.

Before she had the chance to sneak off, Mackie announced her presence loudly. "IF IT ISN'T DARTH PHOENIX!"
