Leaves crunch under her feet as she reaches the clearing, ready to infiltrate the base.

Each movement controlled and planned.

One false move and their mission could be compromised.

Her eyes scan the horizon, pausing for a moment to wait for the signal.

It's barely visible, but there, in the midst of the darkness a small beam of light momentarily shines before completely disappearing.

Her lips slightly turn upwards, her hands adjusting the camera strap on her neck and with one swift move, she runs past the guards and stands by the entrance.

So far so good. She thinks to herself taking in a quiet breath to calm her racing heart.

Once stable enough, she slowly makes her way through the long corridor, putting her weight on her heels to silence the sound of her footsteps against the white marble floor.

The place looked like it had come out straight of a sci-fy movie. The white walls are completely barren, cameras point everywhere, and the place has an eerie feeling to it. Although there is no breeze inside, a shiver runs down her spine, but she didn't let that stop her.

She has to do this.

Otherwise, her hard work would be for nothing. All those sleepless nights researching and studying the facility. Even all the time she spent convincing her friend to help her out with the mission, which was quite difficult, would go to waste.

It's too late to back out now.

So with a deep breath, she turns left and reaches the elevator. As she rounds the corner of the hallway, she sees a slight flicker in the wall, making her blink a few times to make sure her eyes aren't playing tricks on her, but as she gets closer, she sees it again, this time the flicker was clearer.

Tentatively, she reaches her hand out expecting to touch the cold brick but instead surprised when her hand phases through.

That's weird. She thinks to herself.

Usually the evil layers of secret organizations are hidden in the basement or some sort of sub levels. This is definitely the next level of scientific accomplishments.

Her head tells her to turn around while she still has the chance, but her gut tells her that what she is looking for is beyond that wall, and by personal experience, she decides to listen to her gut, ignoring the warning bells blaring inside her head.

The dimly lit room is filled with lab tables and shelves filled with different specimens, each one placed on display inside a glass container.

This is exactly what she is looking for. Now all that is left, is to capture the evidence with her camera.

She slowly goes through the different containers, taking pictures of the tags placed along with them. As she keeps walking deeper and deeper into the room, she lowers her camera when it comes into focus with a metal door.

Everything so far seemed like your regular experiments and nothing pointed to anything illegal, at least not yet. Yet somehow, she felt drawn towards the metal door, and without realizing it she starts walking until she reaches it.

The door open end with a loud creak, making her wince as she slowly closed it back, leaving it slightly ajar in case she needed to escape.

As she takes a step forward, the lights come on, making her jump at the sudden outburst of light. The new room was mostly empty, and too cold for her taste, but a huge covered box in the middle of the room caught her attention.

There is a splashing sound and the cover of the box slowly falls to the ground, revealing a huge glass box on top of a table, but that is not what caught her attention, it is what is inside.

Her heart stops momentarily as her eyes land on the creature inside of the glass box, something in her twisting as she sees his form barely fitting inside the container.

The poor creature slowly turns on his side, his lids half closed as he takes in her figure. Then without a warning, his eyes widen and he abruptly moves, putting a hand against the glass.

And although he didn't utter a word, she knew exactly what he was asking for.

'Please save me'

She looks around the room, looking for an object she can use to break him out, but as she glances at her watch, her eyes widen.

5 minutes left.

Her time was accounted for. It was a go in and get out type of mission, but the moment she saw him, she knew she had to take him with her.

And although that wasn't her original reason for being there, she couldn't bring herself to leave him behind. So she did the only thing she could think of.

She grabbed the fire extinguisher from the closest wall and smashed it against the glass with all her might, sending broken shards everywhere.

The creature takes in a huge gulp of air, his back roughly landing on the surface as his chest goes up and down, his tail uncurling to reveal its full length. As she watches him, realization dawns on her.

Now what?

I'm excited for this one so here's the prologue for now^^-Van
