Fish boy had been asleep for the whole day, and EunHae was starting to get worried. Sure, he seemed to need a lot of sleep which was understandable given the circumstances, but what worried her was how sudden he collapsed after looking slightly better.Truth be told, she knew nothing about how to care for a merman, and the Internet wasn't exactly helpful either. She didn't even know they really existed until she met him.
And now, here she is, running her hands through her hair for the nth time that day, her foot anxiously tapping the floor as she thinks of what to do.
Should I call a doctor?
She wonders with with a frown, glancing at his sleeping form, watching as his chest rises and falls at an even pace. Even if he really needed one, could she find someone they can trust? Someone who will keep his secret?
EunHae had been so caught up in her thoughts, that she didn't hear the front door open, realizing Namjoon was home only when he steps into the room, his brows furrowing together as he sees her pacing around the room like crazy.
Not wanting to startle the girl, Namjoon softly clears his throat, successfully gaining her attention.
Her head snaps up upon hearing him and her lips curve into a smile as soon as she sees him. "You're home."
"Yeah." Namjoon says rubbing the back of his neck. "And I'm guessing I missed something while I was gone?" He asks quirking a brow.
"I-I was just thinking." EunHae replies with a small blush creeping on her cheeks, he had caught her but she didn't really know what to tell him.
Should I ask him about it?
"Let's talk in the kitchen." She says gently grabbing his hand, pulling him along with her to let the boy rest, and Namjoon just quietly follows along until they reach their destination, making himself comfortable on one of the high chairs by the bar of their small kitchen.
Namjoon patiently waits as EunHae takes food out of the fridge, a common habit of hers to get busy whenever there is something on her mind, so he follows her with his gaze until she finally stops and abruptly turns around.
"He was able to stand up." EunHae blurts out.
"Huh?" Namjoon says surprised.
"The boy," she explains taking in a small breath, "he tried walking but after a few minutes he collapsed."
"Ah," Namjoon says with a nod, resting his chin on the palm on his hand as he leans on the table. "And that's what's troubling you?" He asks and she nods.
"It took me by surprise and I..." She starts, her voice trembling at the end as she lowers her gaze to the ground, "I'm scared something is going to happen to him."
Much to her surprise, Namjoon responds by letting out a small laugh. "Don't worry EunHae-ah," he says putting his hands on her shoulders, "I'm sure he's just exhausted, after all, he hasn't gained all of his strength back."
EunHae's cheeks turn a crimson color as she dumbfoundedly stares at him, his statement making complete sense.
"You're right." She says letting out a relieved sigh, embarrassed that the thought didn't cross her mind. "I was worried for nothing..."
