Unexpected Trip

"Here," EunHae says handing the boy a glass of water with a special mixture, "drink this." The boy silently nods and reaches out with shaking hands, gulping its contents down until it is completely empty. As the flavor sets in his mouth, the boys makes a face and scrunches up his nose.

"Sorry." She apologizes. "I know it's not much but I hope it helps. This should do in the meantime." She adds, placing her hand in the water to make sure the temperature is comfortable enough for the boy.

In response, the boy gives her a weak nod along with a faint smile before he closes his eyes and relaxes again, calm even breaths escaping past his lips as he sleeps.

It seems like he is back to the old pattern of needing a lot of sleep, making EunHae wonder if it has something to do with this. With him being away from his home and main source of energy.

Speaking of the situation, EunHae wonders how everything is going outside of the small bathroom. It has been a little too quiet for a while now.

After letting her gaze wander to the hallway outside for a while, EunHae lets out a soft sigh and stands up, casting the boy one last look before she heads to the living room.

He seems to be stable for the time being.

"How is he doing?" Namjoon asks as the girl approaches him, multiple devices on the table in front of him.

"Better." She says with a tired smile. "The salt mixture I brought back from the store seems to have helped a bit but I don't know how long it's going to last."

After receiving the call, EunHae hurried to the nearest store and bough as much salt as possible.

"I see." Namjoon says putting his hands on his chin.

"How's it going over here?" She asks sitting down next to him.

"Good?" Namjoon says with a small sigh. "I got the days off from work, and I texted him to ask if it's okay if we come over, but I'm still waiting for a response. You?"

"Same here. I already asked for days off at work and I got a few things we might need for the trip."

"I guess all that's left is to wait for his response." Namjoon says falling into a brief moment of silence, brows drawn as he thinks. "By the way, how did you know what to do?"

"I didn't." EunHae says. "I figured it would be similar to keeping a pet fish so I did some research and bought the special salt."

"Makes sense." He says, eyes shifting to his phone as it vibrates.

"Hello?" Namjoon says pressing a finger to his lips, getting up from the couch to head to his room.

A good while later, Namjoon comes back to the living room and plops down next to the girl, a sigh escaping his lips, but EunHae can't tell exactly what that sigh means.

"Was that him?" She asks.

"Yes. He says we can head over at any time."

"Okay." EunHae says nodding. "Then we need to start getting everything ready so we can leave as soon as possible."

"What should I tell him?"

"Tell him that if everything goes well, we should be arriving tomorrow morning. If we leave at around 12:30am, we should arrive over there by sunrise, counting all the stops and traffic."

"Will do. I'll let him know and start packing my things."

Hours later, the trio is packed and ready to go.

"Do we have everything we need?" EunHae asks as they load everything into the truck.

"I think so." Namjoon says, looking at the pale boy through the window.

"He'll be okay, right?" EunHae asks throwing the boy a worried glance.

"I hope so. If all he needs is his home, this trip should help him until we figure out what to do next." Namjoon says offering a small smile, the girl taking in a breath to calm herself.

"Okay. I'll check our things one last time and we can get going." She says.

"Hold on a little longer Taehyung, we'll be there in no time."
