An old acquaintance in an unexpected place

After giving it much thought, the trio decides that it is best for them to return to the city, at least for the moment while they decide what to do.

"Call me as soon as get back," Jimin says.

"Will do," Namjoon says giving his friend a hug, exchanging a firm handshake with Jungkook after. "Keep us posted."

"We'll let you know as soon as we find something." EunHae says, also giving Jimin a hug before she climbs onto the truck.

Taehyung on the other hand, sadly stares at the window as they pull away, his hand pressed against the glass as they pass the ocean.

"Don't worry Tae. We'll see them again soon." Namjoon reassures, offering a smile through the rear view mirror.

The boy quietly nods in response, letting out a soft sigh.

"How about a quick stop to get some snacks?" Namjoon offers some time later, hoping to cheer up the boy a little. He had always wanted to visit a convenience store.

When the boy perks up, Namjoon smiles and lessens his tight grip on the wheel, EunHae exchanging a relieved smile with him.

"Here we are." He announces as he pulls into the gas station. "I'm going to go in first while they pump gas, then I'll come around and we can all go in."

"Okay." Taehyung says with a nod, curious gaze peering outside the window.

"I'll be back."

The boy is too distracted to notice, but EunHae knows what Namjoon is doing. He is checking to make sure everything is clear before they go in.

They wouldn't want to put Taehyung in any danger when he barely made it out of that place.

To this day, EunHae still doesn't know how they did it. But she is glad he is safe. At least for the time being.

Taehyung softly hums a tune to himself as he rests his arms on the roll down window, closing his eyes as a soft and gentle breeze blows by.

EunHae smiles at the sight but then sits up when Taehyung suddenly lifts his head, looking in both directions before unbuckling his seatbelt and getting down from the truck.

"Taehyung?" EunHae asks raising a brow, frowning when the boy keeps looking at the distance. "What is it?"

Noticing his frown, she follows his gaze to a pair of men a few feet away.

The men appear to be minding their own business, and judging by the boy's body language, he doesn't seem to be scared. Rather, he seems confused.

Instead of answering, the boy furrows his brows, taking slow steps in the direction he is focused in, the girl quickly following behind.

His pace quickens with each step until he breaks into a sprint, the girl reaching out to him.

"Taehyung wait up!" She calls out, looking over her shoulder to signal Namjoon.
