I slowly opened the door to Chile's room and peaked inside.

"Hey hey, if it aint my guardian angel," he said faintly but with a smile.

I smiled back at him as I entered, " happy to see you doing ok Chile" I said holding his hand.

" thanks to you miss Eva....da doctors told me what you did."

"First time in my life I was dat grateful for those first aid classes Im doin" I chuckled back at him.

"I damn sure am grateful too...beleedat!" He said jokingly.

" so how u doin?" He asked after I contained my laughter.

"I should be asking u that" I replied

"Aww come on now, im straight.....what I meant is between you and yung." He said searching my expression for a sign.

" I mean he explained everything to me..."  I said recapping in my mind all that we had spoke of.

"Good. But why do I feel like dere's a 'but' comin?"

I sighed. " I dunno chile...its just this thing we had goin on was so confusing. I just rather it not continue" I told him trying to put into words whatever that "thing" really was.

"You sure dats all?" He probed me some more.

I honestly didn't know. Hell, our friendship/ relationship was more complicated than my biochemistry class.

I shrugged not knowing what else to say.

"Well miss Eva, I think you should consider givin my yungin another chance to prove himself. He really do like you frm da way he talks about you and even the influence you got on him" he said sincerely.

I looked up at him. "Influence?"

" mmhmm...a positive one. Frm his music down to his character." He replied

I thought about his words

"So just do me a favor and think bout it" he concluded.

I nodded.

"I should probably let one of your boys come see you now," I said standing up.

"Aight then," he smiled at me. I gave him a quick hug making sure not to squeeze his bandaged shoulder area.

I had only met Chile yesterday but he was genuinely a really nice person. No wonder August got on so well with him.

It had been a few days since the shooting and I was back at it. End of semester exams were underway so I basically focused on that.

"Man that macro economics exam raped da fuck outta me," anika said as we walked on campus.

I laughed. " I thought you said you had it covered when you were studying the other night? "

" nah nah.  I said I had da first chapter covered. My ass fell asleep after chapter 3" she shook her head.

"Well dont sweat it...just pass the others real high and it wont hurt ur gpa too much" I said

she nodded in agreement. " when yo last exam doe?" She asked

I grinned "tomorrow"

"Urghh I hate you!" She rolled her eyes before laughing at my ridiculous grin that was still on my face.

*phone rings*
