What was wrong with Cody? He wouldn't come out of his room, and if he did, I never saw him...but other people did. I wonder...was he purposely trying to avoid me? What did I do wrong? Wait...the look of heart break on his face when I started dating Kyle...could he...? No! There was absolutely no way that he would- Could he? He was one of my best friends...and I love him like a brother...but did he think...you know what? I'm thinking about this too much, there's no way that he liked me like that! But...Lyric had a crush on him, and she can't seem to look me in the eye lately...
Lyric's p.o.v
Where was he? I only had a week to get him to like me back, and to get Daring and Dexter to Iris! I felt bad about having to trick them, especially since I was pretty good friends with Ruby Charming. But they were the only boys that fit Iris' description! After searching the library, the cafe and the grimmnastics room, I found him in the castleteria. I slid down to sit next to him. He was staring longingly at a table on the other side of the room. I followed his gaze to where Rachelle and her friends were sitting. I couldn't help but sigh in annoyance.
"Hey Cody, Harmony recommended these chocolates to me, wanna try one?" I asked innocently. He didn't answer. I waved my hand in front of his face, bringing him back into reality.
"Oh...uh, sure Lyric" he said popping a caramel chocolate into his mouth. His eyes turned emerald green for a moment, before turning back to their normal blue...but there was something about his eyes that frightened me, there were white heart shaped specks, and they were glowing unnaturally.
"Lyric, I've never noticed your beauty before..." Cody began. I nodded encouragingly.
"You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen"
"Really?" I asked hopefully.
"Yes, you know what? LET'S GET MARRIED!"
"Uh...let's turn it down a little, how about we just start by going on a date?" I asked.
"Okay! Whatever you want, love" he said affectionately.
"Great, how about tonight?" I asked.
"Of course! Where do you wanna go?" he asked.
"How about the movie theater?"
"Okay! I'll pick you up at 8:30!" he said, skipping to his dorm.
I was so happy! I'd finally gotten him to like me! But if I did...then why did I feel so...unsatisfied? This wasn't MY Cody, this was the Cody that Iris made for me, why did I regret getting him to like me?
