a mouth full of chlorine,
momentarily burning your lungs as you choke the last of it out of your system.

a bright burning glow,
radiating and warming your perfectly golden skin.

laughing and playful shrieks,
filling your ears and leaving them ringing.

in the last days of summer,
children laugh and play,

and we're just sitting here,
breathing in the burning smells of chlorine,
waiting for the last days of summer
to soak up our souls and relieve them of their aching and pain.
