all i could ever need

i can't feel
the way the universe beg me to -
my emotions drown out far too quickly.
and those that don't suffocate,
in the water's depth,
overwhelm me to no end.

but that would never stop me.
from holding your hand
under the summer's lamppost;
from strolling along
the moon's ethereal light;
from laying on the dewy grass of april;
that would never stop me
from making you
the happiest man alive.

because i may not feel
the way i'm supposed to
- or the way everyone else does -
but you give me,
a little glimpse of what feeling might be,
everytime you look me in the eyes
and tell me you'd love me,
no matter if i could ever truly
love you back,
and that's all i could ever need.
