𝙺𝚒𝚖 𝙽𝚊𝚖𝚓𝚘𝚘𝚗"NAMJOON! THEY'RE GETTING LOUDER!" I hear Yoongi call from another room. I look at Jin and see confusion plastered on his face, making me chuckle. I turn to Yoongi's room.
"WHY DON'T YOU GO THEN?!" I quietly count down from ten, earning another confused look from Jin. I sign for him to wait as I reach one and take a step back. I grab Jins arm and pull him back a step with me, making sure to be gentle.
The door to Yoongi's room opens as he storms into the hall with heavy steps. He doesn't even look at me as I hear him whisper under his breath... Something along the lines of 'I swear to God, I have to do everything in this fucking house'.
I cross my arms, roll my eyes and let a laugh escape my throat. I turn to look at Jin, who is wearing his glasses again. I feel some kind of pressure on my chest as I look into his confused eyes, begging me to explain.
"That was Yoongi." I blurt out as I look down at the floor to not be confronted with my neighbours doey eyes. The sentence isn't enough for him, though.
"Wait, 'bangtan' told me something about Yoongi being your friend... Is he your housemate?" He asks as I look up again, trying to look at anything but his eyes.
"Yeah, he'd probably sleep all day and forget to eat and drink if I let him live alone." I chuckle.
"So, you've known him for some time then?" He asks. I smile to myself as I look at Jin again.
"You know, I kind of enjoy how you get so interested whenever I tell you something. I like when people listen to me." I see a faint blush creep onto Jins cheeks as he smiles weakly. "But, yeah, I have known Yoongi for as long as I can remember. He's helped me through a lot in life. He might look like a grumpy grandpa, but once you get to know him, you see past it and realize he's just a little turtle hiding in his chell that needs to be handled with care."
"I know what you mean... It's basically the same thing for Hoseok and I. Only that he's the literal sun." He laughs as I sense him trying to ease the tension. I point at the couch as his laugh turns into a content smile. He takes a seat and waits for me to join.
"Polar opposites attract, right? Maybe they should meet. Because between you and me, Yoongi's bisexual." I wink as I see a smirk on Jins face. My confidence leaves my body in seconds. The pressure on my chest returns. "Uhm... You want something to drink?" I ask scratching the back of my neck.
"That would be lovely." He replies as I make my way towards the kitchen. I let out a loud breath I didn't even know I was holding back there. I take two drinks as I sit down onto the kitchen counter for a while.
I put my hand over my heart, feeling it beat faster than normal. It's like the third time that happened in a week. I've been thinking about getting a check up at the doctor, but it disappeared when I did. Now that it's back, I start to rethink my decision.
It's only when I hear the front door being thrown shut that I snap out of it and take the drinks to head to the living room again. I am met with Yoongi raising an eyebrow at a very confused Jin.
"Yoongi." He turns to me, pointing at Jin. "That's Seokjin, our neighbour. Be nice." I say the last part a little harshly, which is probably the only way he'll listen.
"Whatever." He walks towards me and takes one of the drink from my hand to head back towards his room. I take the other one towards the couch and hand it to Jin. "Sorry."
"No, it's fine. Thank you." He takes the drink as he pushes his glasses up his nose for a second. I smile unconsciously.
"So..."
"You were going to tell me about the little ones across the hall, right?" He asks, sounding like a kid. I can't help but ruffle his soft brown hair as I go to sit next to him. I only realise what I did as he furrows his eyebrows. I start to panic internally as he doesn't say anything at first. He puts his drink down as I see a smile onto his face. "I'm older than you, pabo." His turn to ruffle my hair now as I start to laugh.
"No, you'll never catch me alive!" I jump up from the couch as he begins to laugh as well. It gets worst as I go into battle stance, making his clutch his stomach as he tries to stop laughing.
"I'm sorry. I don't want to make your friend upset with my obnoxious laugh." I look at him as I catch the little sparkle leave his happy eyes.
"I like your laugh." It's a unique sound that I've learned to appreciate in the few times we've talked to each other. His cheeks turn a faint pink color as he pulls up the sleeves of his hoodie to cover his face.
"No, it's awful! It's sounds like someone cleaning windows." I frown at the sudden negativity as I sit back down. I scoot closer to Jin as he keeps his face covered.
"Jin?" He doesn't look up. I hesitate at first, but then take his wrists, making him uncover his face gently. I see his eyes glister, but not in a good way. It looks like there could be tears following any second. "Hey, what's wrong?" I ask carefully, still holding his fabric covered wrists.
"It's stupid." He sniffles as I watch a droplet of water trail down his cheek. He pulls his legs onto the couch to make himself smaller as I decide to pull him closer and embrace him. He doesn't decline my action as he begins to lean into my chest.
"If it's about your laugh then don't waste tears on it because I think it's beautiful." I wait a second as he continues to sob quietly. I tighten my grip on the older as he places one of his hands on my chest, clutching the fabric underneath. "If it's not, then I'm here for you. It is okay to cry. Life can't always work the way we want it too. Just remember that there are people you can rely on."
The pressure on my chest returns as I feel the man in my arms try to hold in his sobs while he shakes uncontrollably. I cuddle him closer as I rest my head on his. He nuzzles his face closer in acceptance.
