It all started on a stupid dare.

"I dare you", Maria smirked at Alexander as she pointed her finger at him tauntingly. "To marry John on the church nearby, with a lot of people watching, and you guys have to exchange wedding vows with them as witnesses!"

Me and Eliza choked on our food at the same time. Meanwhile, Aaron and Hermann loomed curious at this action.

"Oh, is this a declaration of a dare war, Maria?", Alexander smirked mischievously. "Then, I accept!"

My face turned beet red. WHAT THE HELL!?

Okay, sure, it was a relief when Alexander got over his crush on Maria aftet a couple of months in our stay here in UA, and she ended up being friends with us all and she joined our squad, so I have absolutely no problem with her now.

However, this is just so sudden!

I was trying to get my feelings for him at bay, since I didn't know if Alexander would accept this or not. I really didn't want to ruin our friendship, too.

But then, this!

It's completely ruining my plans! What the hell!?

Though..., a small, treacherous part of me whispered. Alex accepted that dare. Doesn't that mean that he feels the same way?

Shut up and go die in a hole, I retorted to it.

Before I could speak up and let them know what I think about this, Maria suddenly interjected. "Uh-huh! Well, I'm not finished!"

My mouth clamped shut. Alexander raised an eyebrow at her and smirked. "Oh, yeah?"

"Yeah", Maria crossed her arms smugly. "You guys have to do it with both of you in dazzling wedding gowns! And the whole package of being brides, too! And the wedding has to take place tonight, before the clock strikes 8!"

I fell over my chair. Alexander froze and honestly looked like he just turned into stone.

Eliza just threw her cheeseburger at Maria, to which the girl just caught it midflight. "Come on, Alex! It's just a silly dare! You can refuse if you want!"

No, my eyes darted to Alexander pleadingly. No, no, no, you can't accept!

Based on his expression, Alexander was clearly in the same page as me. However, what he said was the opposite of what he conveyed in his face. "Yeah, we'll do it."

Then, he clamped his hands over to his mouth with eyes widened, like he couldn't believe what he just said.

Eliza froze. Aaron and Hermann's mouths gaped open. Nejire gasped out loud.

I froze, too. What did he just...?

Meanwhile, Maria had a devious grin on her face as she clapped happily. "Then, congrats, guys! You are now engaged!"

😮

"Holy ****", I giggled histerically as Eliza pulled me inside a boutique shop. "Did that just happen? I don't think it really did happen. Did it? I don't think so--"

Eliza sighed. "John, you've been saying that ever since classes ended and we met with each other outside the school gate."

True, but...

"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING!", I dove inside a closet full of colorful gowns before one of the salesladies could protest and screamed. "What was Alexander thinking? This is marriage! Marriage! And he's not supposed to get together with me!"

I heard Eliza sigh exasperatedly, before she followed me in the closet and sat down beside me.

"You have a crush on him. I have a crush on him, too. That's obvious, right?", Eliza confessed.

I nodded dutifully. "I think everyone knows by now."

"Everyone except Alexander, you mean. Oh, and it's pretty clear that Maria likes him, too. As does every other girl in the General Course."

I couldn't help but snort. "The guy has a literal harem, and he doesn't even know."

"Does he?", Eliza laughed. "He could be dating some other gorgeous girl right now."

The two of us laughed. We knew it shouldn't be funny in our case, but that was the joke. We knew Alexander enough to know that he doesn't just go for every other girl out there.

Harmless flirting, sure, but he's basically as innocent as Izuku when it comes to romance and relationships, frankly speaking.

Even if he says otherwise.

"But seriously, don't think about this too hard", Eliza reassured me. "Think of this as...a mischievous prank between friends. You know..."

"The harmless kind", I nodded. "Yeah, I think I get it..."

"It's just a silly dare, after all", Eliza smiled. "It's not going to guarantee who ends up with who, you know."

I took a deep breath. "Okay. Okay. Thanks, Eliza."

She really is awesome; even if she has feelings for him too, and I was the one dared to do this instead of her, she's still fine with it. She's really strong, to be honest.

"Anytime", she slowly rose up and started to come out the closet while grabbing my arm. "Now, we need to find you a gown that would take Alexander's breath away!"

I laughed and let myself get dragged by her.

And to be honest, I think I really looked great in a gown. It's surprisingly comfortable, too.

I also got a wig that surprisingly looked realistic, and it matched my hair!

One of the ladies there styled it so that I looked like Snow White's lovelier sister, or so they said.

Eliza even put a crown over my head while the transparent white veil covered my face as she giggled. "You look amazing."

"I hope I'm not too much of a Disney princess in this look", I sweatdropped as I fumbled with the tiara.

"You kidding?", Eliza snorted before patting ny back with a big grin. "You practically look like Elsa with much blonder, unbraided hair. And she's probably Alexander's favorite princess!"

"Probably", I smiled nervously.

"Probably", Eliza nodded along. "Anyway, everything's going to be fine! Alexander's going to drool when he sees you."

I couldn't help but laugh at that remark. "Thank you so much, Eliza."

"You're welcome. Go get 'em, tiger!"

With head held high, I set out to the church while wearing the outfit, and Eliza cheering me on.

Though...

I think I was the one who got my breath stolen away when I caught sight of Alexander that night.
