#28: Hermann

I didn't know what was happening, to be honest. But one thing's for sure...

If I could describe everything that happened this past few days, I would go with indescribable.

I had gone with Inko-san and Izuku while they took Alexander to the hospital after insisting to Henri that he should stay with mom and dad.

And, well...

The doctor found something peculiar there.

"It's a bit odd, but the child had some sort of neurotoxin injected onto him on top of getting crushed by the giant bell", the doctor named Kauri had explained to us. "We don't exactly know what it is, or what it's doing to him, unfortunately. We can only find out once he wakes up..."

I saw Inko-san go pale when she continued her diagnosis. "That is...if he even wakes up again."

It was a hard slap on the face for the whole Midoriya family.

I mean, it was even a hard pill to swallow for me, and I'm just a friend of Alexander's!

And what was even more peculiar was that I was the only friend that had come along to this hospital trip, when I was sure that Eliza and John would've jumped at the chance.

So, where the hell were they?

Turns out, I found out on the next day that Eliza was figuring out who had the guts to do this. After all, it wasn't supposed to happen at all, in the first place.

And the current suspect was Maria.

"It would make sense, since she was the one who gave the dare in the first place", Eliza explained over lunch, when we were eating together. "And she hurried to get out of the church when the adults had put Alexander in the ambulance!"

"B-but to be fair", Maria quickly defended herself, eyebrows furrowing. "I was only in a hurry because I was called by my parents! I didn't know this would happen!"

"A likely story", John frowned while staring at her disapprovingly.

I observed Maria when she was talking, though. I noticed that she wasn't staring any of us down, and wasn't covering her neck or chest.

That meant...that she was telling the truth.

"Really?", Aaron stared at me incredulously.

I sweatdropped. "Did I say that out loud?"

"Yep!",  Nejire nodded, before putting a cherry into her mouth.

Eliza frowned. "Oh..."

As she quickly apologized to Maria, John turned his gaze to me, with his face clearly showing frustration. "So...who could have done this, then?"

Unfortunately, I was just as clueless as everyone else was.

It had been a week since the incident.

Alexander still hadn't woken up, and the Midoriya family was in even worse shape.

And we're still no closer to actually finding the real culprit! Even the Pro Heroes are having trouble!

I sighed. What now?

Currently, I'm sitting on a seat in a train going to UA, like I always do every day on going to school. Like hell I'll let my old man ferry me to school!

As I stared at the houses and buildings the train passed by, someone suddenly sat beside me.

Turning, I saw a boy the same age as me, with maybe a bit lighter skin color than Aaron's, and he had piercing Raven Black eyes.
