Emma

I sat on the hood of Drews car.

swinging my feet

back

and forth.

None of this is making sense anymore. I mean, where is this actually going to go? So what if we find out what actually happened?

It means nothing.

Because Danny has men everywhere.

Maybe we should get new identities and move on?

But we all know we can't do that...

There just has to be away.

Drew walked over and lent against the side of the hood with his back to me.

"How did it go?" I asked, not looking up from my feet.

"Price is just being a dick." he scoffed.

I raised a brow and said "How so?"

"He wants me to tell him whats going on, but if I don't know, how the f*ck am I meant to?" he shrugged.

I sighed and he turned around to me, placing his hands on either side of the hood.

I kept my eyes cast down as he started to say "Emma..." he sighed and hung his head low.

"We're close. We have all the parts of the puzzle. we just need to put them together. I know this is hard on you and I want the people who put you in so much pain to either be dead or wish they were dead."

I looked up at him as he still focused down.

"I can't do it without you Em.  You keep me level headed... I need you."

I swivelled around and looked at him as he looked up at me in response.

Gently, I placed a hand on his cheek and tilted my head slightly.

"We're never going to be without each other again... never be alone again... It's me and you Drew." a slight tear fell down my cheek.

"I wouldn't have it any other way...."

I leant in and kissed him, my hand still upon his cheek. he straightened out and I stretched up to reach him as my arms draped about his neck, his hand being placed on my lower back.

"I love you..." I said once we pulled away, my forehead against his.

"Hm... I have no idea why..."

I smiled gently and said "because you're the only person who understands me..." I hugged him tightly.

"I love you too Emma..." He said over my shoulder.

We walked into the house and I placed my keys on the table. "I'm going to have a shower. Got to get ready for work tomorrow." I said as I took my shoes off.

"Alright, I'm going to finish up on these files." He kissed my cheek before heading upstairs.

I don't really want to go to work tomorrow but by the sounds of things, we're all doing things we don't want to.

I went into the bathroom and flicked the shower on before tying my hair up and getting out a fresh towel.

As the water cascaded over me, I slicked back my hair and realised I couldn't tell the difference from my tears and droplets of water.

My eyes stung from the vapour ...

What about if he gets taken away from me?

If you've ever been in love, true love, you couldn't bear to imagine life without them.  How you would ever be able to go on...
