Emma

10:00 pm

I tightened my ponytail and closed my folder that had my court case in. It's been a long, complicated day...

I've only just got back into sleeping in our own bed. The nursery has been comforting or simply falling asleep on the chair in the living room. No matter what, I'm not getting enough sleep. 5, 6 hours if I'm lucky?

And in all fairness, I got to see Drew and that's made my month. I turned off my desk lamp and uncrossed my legs from the chair before getting up and out of my study.

I haven't eaten much today so I better eat something before bed.

After walking down the stairs to go to the kitchen, my attention was turned to the doorbell.

This can only be bad news at 10:10 at night.

"Please don't be evil mob members, please don't be evil mob members..." My muscles tightened and I winced slightly as I etched closer to the door.

"Hey Em! Hope I'm not late." DREW strolled in and kissed my cheek before heading down the hall.

I stood frozen and mouth agape at where Drew just came from.

"Andrew Kingston!?" I closed the door stiffly, my jaw still open as I headed to the kitchen.

Am I dreaming?

I'll be asleep at my desk any minute now.

"Hey!" He smiled as I entered.

I laughed and said "Sweetheart, don't take this the wrong way... But what are you doing here?" I held onto the doorframe as he slipped onto the island.

"Oh! The whole prison thing!"

"Yes Drew! The whole prison thing!" I furrowed my brow in confusion.

"Well. I'm meant to be on my way to Westville right now with Price to see the Commissioner over there. Or so Moreno's been lead to think." He shrugged.

I stood up straight and said "So... How long are you here for?"

"Until 5." He nodded.

I walked over to him and folded my arms, raising a brow.

"Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes..." He placed a strand of hair behind my ear and I smiled, before standing on my tiptoes and hugging him.

"Hey Emmy..." He held me tightly.

"Hey Drew..." I smiled as he placed as forehead on the curve of my neck.

I pulled away and kissed him gently, but longingly.

"What do you want to do first? Eat? Shower?' I stroked his hair.

"Well I've definitely missed eating food that hasn't been liquidised."

"Eating it as. Just what I was going to do actually." I walked to the fridge.

"How about chicken and pasta?" I turned to him.

"Solid food? Yeah I'll take it."

I laughed and shook my head.

After preparing it, we walked upstairs so he could have a shower while it was cooking.

"Now, actually having a shower somewhere sanitary and without other men... That's another luxury right there."

"Oh baby. Take as long as you need. " I held his shoulders as we got to the top of the stairs.

He kissed me gently and gripped my hair.
