Chapter9-part ii-~the previous night~Sid's feeling~
The rain which had started around 11 p.m. died down to drizzling some hours ago when Tora was trying to sleep closing her eyes....
It did not take much time for her to be dozzed off....
And gradually the drizzling also came to a hault....
But the moist breeze continued its roaming....It engulfed the night city with its kisses which made Tora's slumber deeper...
But this plesant weather did not bring any comfort to Siddhartya...
He laid there on his single bed...
sleepless....frustated.....
By the time the rain had stopped completly....The thick lairs of the cloud reduced to thin patches....
and from the behind of them a dull moonlight was making its way to the town...to the half-open window of Sid's attic...
Sid switched his position from lying on the back to lying on stomach....Burying his face on the pillow he groaned....
Why!!
Why he had to marry someone tomorrow!!
Why his mother could not understand that he could survive without marrying again!!
He had found his peace in his loneliness....
then why was this sudden trouble!!
He had stopped praying to God after Neeva's death...so now he did not pray to the God to rescue him from this trouble....
Instead of it he sat up from the lying position.....descended his legs to touch the floor and stood up then made his way to the window collecting a cigarette and the lighter from the bed side table...
He stumbled upon some thing....probably some stuff from the wedding arrangement which were temporarily existing in the attic...
But he ignored it and reached near the window....
Why should he care about upturning something when his own life is upside down!!
He lit the cigarette....
Pressing it between his lips he took a puff...
He scanned his sleeping neighbourhood through the window making the scene hazy with the mouthfull of smoke he blew out...
..He searched the ash-trey shuffling through the semi dark room ...
Not finding it anywhere he cursed..
" F*ck"
Everything was in the mood of betraying him...
Giving up the finding he tipped the ash on the air...
Such sleepless night reminded him more about Neeva...
How fate could be such merciless!!
It took away not only his wife but his unborn child also!!!
He shuddered thinking of the pain they had to go through in the accident....
And now his mother added a new trouble! the marriage....
"F*ck", he cursed again....
Anger, helpness and many more thing were running through his vein.....
Finishing the cigarette he ground it on the base of the window roughly to put out the ember....
It was creating a mark on the cement area.....
But he just did not give a damn about it...
He was as if pouring his anger on the butt...
Flicking the end of the cigarette on the air he realised..his life was also nothing but a burnt cigarette...
his hopes had turned into ashes....
and his life had become blurred with the smoke of his burnt hope....
And he was being tossed by the fate like the end of the cigarette....not knowing where to land.....
