The Twins

"Zenith, please don't go, please stay with me I love you", I begged

"Ava, you're not the type I wanna be with ok, you're...you're just you", he said pulling his hand away from me

"Then why didn't you realize that 6 months ago?", I cried

"Ava, people break-up after years of being together, we've been for only a few months. I'm sorry but I can't do this anymore", saying this he walked away from me forever.

He left me on the street beside the park which used to once be our happy place.

"Please come back, please...", I kept weeping till the last tear dropped down my eyes and till my eyes dry.

2 years later......

"Ava, Mia come down for the breakfast honey", our mom said

"Coming ma...", we screamed together

I got up from my bed grabbing my glasses from the common table between our beds. I got up and stretched my body finally waking up from my sleep. As my eyes turned towards the opposite bed I saw Mia was still asleep,

"Mia, wake up lazy bones...", I whispered in her ear

"Mmm...Ava, just five minutes more", she said half-asleep

"Mia, wake up while I'm being nice", I said giving her a warning

"Shut-up Ava, trying to sleep here", she said again ignoring me

"Ahm...ahm...", I clear my throat

"MIA...AAAAA....get up get up you've got college today, hurry we don't wanna be late now right", I screamed making her fall from the bed in terror

"Ava...you jerk, you scared the shit out of me", Mia yelled

"Well, I tried to be nice but..."

She got up from the floor rubbing her butt like every single morning and irritably grabbed her towel and walked into the bathroom. I laughed as she went in

"I love you", I said

"I love you too", she said in anger

The first thing I do every morning is to wake-up my slacker twin sister. She makes me late whenever I let her get up on her own, so this job became a part of my routine 5 years ago.

I grab the towel on my bed and walk into my bathroom. I think dad knew when this house was being built that we sisters will be needing two separate bathrooms for getting ready every day. Well, his prediction has helped me to this day.

I walked under the shower, undressed and turned the shower knob. After adjusting the water suitable to my body temperature I started taking a shower. After finishing I turned off the knob and wrapped a towel around my waist. I walked out of the shower and stood in front of the basin. I grabbed my toothbrush and started brushing my teeth. After completing everything I walked out of the bathroom with the towel still wrapped around me.

I saw Mia coming out of the bathroom as well. Both of us smiled at each other and we walked towards our closets. I pulled out a red half sleeved T-Shirt labeled LOL and grabbed my brown capris to wear along with it. I combed my long blonde hair and tied it up into a bun. I opened my drawer and grabbed the black bracelet I always wore.

Besides, Mia pulled a beautiful floral printed dress which reached till the knee and wore a beautiful pendant along with it. She left her blonde hair flowing down

"Sis, are you gonna wear that today?", she asked me

"Yeah, why?', I said confusingly

"Come on, it's the first day, you need to create an impression on everyone", she said in excitement and grabbed a black dress from her closet and walked towards me

"Why don't you..."

"Don't bother", I interrupted covering her face with my right hand

"Whatever", she said and walked downstairs in anger

"Listen to me chili", I teased her

I took my bag and grabbed her bag as well and ran downstairs. On the breakfast table, I saw dad busy reading the news on his TAB and mom next to him sipping coffee from her cup.

"It's been 15 min since I called you, and now you're coming? When will you girls learn?", she said giving our morning dose of scolding.

"Sorry mom, it's Mia's fault", I said

"Hey, why is it always me?", she argued

"Well, we all know who is a slacker, right dad?", I dragged him into this

"Mom, Ava's teasing me again", she yelled

"Ava, eat your food and Mia darling, would you like some juice?", she said

"What the..."

"Yes mom"

"You always side with Mia mom, not fair", I said

"Now, now Karen, don't trouble my girl", he said siding with me

"Then ask her to finish her breakfast and also you finish eating Derek, enough with staring at the TAB already. We're gonna be late for work", she said

Dad started an online business a few years ago. Luckily, his business flourished and mom being good at management, joined him a few years later. Both work together at different designations but love their work equally.

Mia and I finished our graduation just a year ago but dad said we had to complete our further studies before being a pro-worker. I successfully made into a business school to complete my MBA and my sister being a good photographer, continued in the same field.

Surely, she has a better life than me, but who am I kidding I love management work

"Ok, everyone, it's time to leave", mom said

I grab my car keys and dad grabs his. All the four of us leave the room and I lock the main entrance and we made our way towards the cars.

I unlocked my Caviar Black Chevrolet Spark and asked Mia to get in, dad unlocked his Phantom Brown Toyota Fortuner and seated mom in it. We said our goodbyes and left the garage.

Mia was sitting in my passenger seat as I drove in average speed. She pulled out her phone and called her friend discussing, I dunno what. A few minutes later when she hung up I turned to her,

"Uh, Ava drop me at Kim's place", she said

"But isn't the university ahead?", I asked

"Yeah, but I'll join with Kim", she said

"Ok", I said and drove the car to the left side

After dropping Mia, I drove towards my university. I already called Emily and asked her to wait at the front gate.

Oh btw, Emily is my best friend/girlfriend. We've been studying together since high school. Unlike me, she's a total girl and just like my sister always tries to turn me into a girl but she's one of the sweetest persons I know. After my break-up not only did my sister help me get out of what people call break-up side effects but even she never left my side.

These were the two important persons of my life so far, now, today was the day my new life would start and honestly, my heart is throbbing because I don't know what is going to be on my plate this time.
