My Double Cupid

Adrian's POV

It had been 2 days since Ava stopped speaking to me. I had decided, I wasn't gonna give up on her. I dunno why did I think that she might come back. Everything was going good, then why did it have to be this way.

I needed a distraction, I took my ball, wore my shoes and left home. It took me only a few minutes to reach the court. I started dribbling the ball and walked around the court. I shoot the ball towards the basket but it didn't pass through the loop. As I looked around, I saw a girl in a red who resembled Ava. 

I left my ball there and towards her before she could leave. I breathlessly reached her. I stopped her from going anywhere. When I saw closely, it was Ava 

"Hey, I'm glad I found you", I said smiling looking at her

"Excuse me, who are you?", she said brushing my hands off

"Come on, stop joking already, just let me explain myself", I said

"Don't touch me, who the hell are you?", she asked in anger

"Mia, you forgot the list", a voice said. I saw a girl who bent down to pick up something. She was standing at a distance from us but when she lifted her head, I was shocked.

I ran breathlessly towards Mia. When I spotted her, I saw a person along with her too. I shouted so that she knew I was calling her. I accidentally dropped my glasses on the road. As I lifted my head after wearing my glasses, I closely looked and saw, 

"Adrian!!!", I froze there

"Ava, I'm here, there's a weird guy here, come quickly", she said pointing at Adrian

"Ava?", he said looking at me in surprise, "Then you are?", he asked looking at Mia. "I'm Mia, Ava's my twin sister", she said. 

I dropped the paper there and started to run. 

"Ava, stop", Adrian said as I could feel he was running after me

I ran, I ran till my legs hurt, I can't face him now, he knows that I lied to him. God, what should I do now

"Ava stop, please, stop running from me, Ava", he said.

"Don't follow me Adrian", I said as my voice was shaking

  He still didn't stop running after me. My flip-flops tore as I was running so fast. I slipped and fell on the road. 

"Ouch", I said in pain

"Ava, are you ok?", Adrian said taking my legs in his hands

We looked at each other painfully. The way he looked at me brought tears into my eyes. I felt so shameful,

"Ava, your knee, it's scrapped", he said looking at my knee

"It's ok, I'll dress it at home", I said and got up to walk away

Adrian pulled me closer and kissed me. His kiss had the same passionate feeling like that day when he kissed me in the BB court. I looked at him with a surprised look on my face, why would he kiss me, I wasn't looking like Mia, then why, 

"Adrian why did you kiss me?", I asked while a tear rolled down my eyes

"Because I like you silly, I have been trying to tell you since the last 2 days, but...why would you lie about your identity Ava", he asked cupping my face

"I didn't mean to Adrian. The day when we accidentally met, I acted as my sister because she was sick that day. I started to like you ever since that day but...the first time you saw me...I was not Ava, I was Mia. I'm very different from my sister both in nature and looks", I said explaining myself. "My sister is beautiful Adrian, but, I look very simple, I look like a nerd", I said adjusting my glasses

"You're beautiful you idiot, and who told you're a nerd. You're a beautiful person Ava, and that's why I like you. I don't care if you wear glasses, dress so casually, but you're beautiful, you're very beautiful for me ok. I see you with my heart, not eyes", he said. 

His words brought tears into my eyes. I smiled at him, 

"Adrian, I like you, I really do", I said

He smiled at me and pressed his soft lips against mine. He placed his hands on my cheeks and I wrapped my arms around his waist. After a few minutes, he parted his lips from mine and said

"I like you, and only you Ava. Go out with me, okay", he said his hands still on my cheeks.

I nodded in a yes as I was too happy to say anything. After what happened to me two years ago, this felt like a dream come true. A dream which I never wanted to come to an end. We spent a little time together that day. I didn't have my phone with me so we totally lost track of time. 

Adrian walked me till home that day. As we reached the gate of our home, Adrian said his goodbye,

"I'll text you, answer it this time, ok?", he said and kissed me with a smile

"Bye Adrian", I said blushing

"Not so fast dude", Mia said. "Mia, what is it?", I asked. She had a deadly expression her face as she walked towards us, "Ava, Adrian, get into the house", she said ordering us.

As we entered the house, I saw all the people sitting on the couch giving us a deadly stare. I walked into the house calmly, but Adrian was a little scared. Mia closed the door behind us,

"Hmm...so this is the guy?", my dad asked in a deep voice

"Yes dad", Mia said

"Mom, dad, aunty what's going on?", I asked

"Ava is this your boyfriend", mom asked me

I looked at Adrian as he slipped his hands into mine. 

"Yes mam", he said

After a silence of a few seconds, mom just jumped at him, "Oh, so this is the cute man you told me about Mia. I'm so happy", she said as she hugged him.

Adrian looked surprised but happy. "Come here gentleman", my dad said. Adrian looked a little afraid because of the way my dad was staring at him.

"What do you do?", he asked

"I'm a professional Basketball player sir, I completed my graduation 2 years ago", he said

"Hmm...so, you want to date my daughter?", he asked in a serious tone

"Dad", I whispered

"Yes, yes sir", he stuttered

"Will you take good care of her?", he asked

"I will sir, I can assure you about that", Adrian said

Mia hit me teasingly and whispered, "Your man has guts sis", she said. I blushed. 

"Ok, so from now, I declare you as boyfriend and girlfriend", dad said

"Dad, we're dating, not reading our marriage vows", I said

"I need to be sure about everything", he said and hugged Adrian

Mia jumped at me and hugged me tightly. I looked at Adrian and he looked at me, it was the best day of my life. 

"I love you", I said without talking

"I love you too", he said with a bright smile on his face
