I looked for an empty parking space and parked my car. I grabbed my bag, phone and got out of the car. As I moved my eyes searching for the gate, I saw a girl running towards me in excitement and screaming...
"Hii.....", she screamed
"Oh god", I sighed, it was Emily
"Hi, you finally came, I was waiting like forever, what took you so long, come on in now", she said blabbering
"Breathe sis, I know one day we will stop breathing but at least breathe now", I said entangling my hand to hers
We made our way to the gymnasium as per the board which read-
"FIRST YEARS ORIENTATION THIS WAY" with an arrow pointing towards our right
As we walked through the entrance of the gym my heart was beating faster, faster and faster saying "This is it, Ava, your final stage of study starts today. It's gonna be ok, you've got Emily"
Emily held my hand tighter and pulled me to the place where all the students sat. Surely, this was post-graduation so I could at least expect decency in here, unlike my graduation. To my surprise, there were chairs arranged in a beautiful order. The gymnasium walls cream in color, with a wooden textured smooth flooring and with bright lights hung to the roof of the gymnasium

"Guess you found your pass time", Emily whispered in my ear
"Yup, sure did", I agreed
I was a killer when it came to sports. Basketball was my favorite but I was good with this kind of stuff. I left my bag on the chair leaving Emily by herself and decided to explore the outside a little before the function starts. I made my way back to the entrance. I came out and saw a hundred more students walking towards the gym just like how we both did.
The place was cheerful with decent people happy about their first day. As I made my way further outside a stranger bumped into me...
"Ouch...", he said
As the guy picked up his stuff, I looked at his face. He had short brown hair with a broad jawline and sharp green eyes. He cleaned the dirt off his white shirt as his eye turned towards me,
"Oh shit...I'm sorry, I wasn't looking", I said
"Neither was I, but now I am", he said staring right into my face
"Um...sorry", I said bringing him out of his imagination
"Oh, I mean, which way is the gymnasium?", he asked
"Well I guess you're still not looking, because you're standing right in front of it"
"Oh...oh I'm sorry", he said looking at the board and bursting into laughter
As I walked away from him, he said," Um...I think the program starts at 10 and it's 5 mins past 10 so shouldn't you be in?", he asked
"Hmm...ever since I met you, it's the first time you make sense", I said mocking him
We both burst into laughter and walk into the gymnasium. Since the seats were quite empty, Emily was still sitting alone. I decided to invite the not too bad man to join us. As I made my way to my chair, picked up the bag and sat down. The unknown guy sat on the chair beside me. Emily being a girl looked very excited when I brought a guy with me,
"OMG, OMG who's this cutie here?", she said looking at his face
"This cutie...", I said pointing my hand towards him," well...cutie what's your name?", I asked
Emily gave me a deadly shocking expression," Ava, you brought a guy you don't even know, oh...my baby girl has grown up", she said faking the emotions
"Oh shut your beak, he was lost, I helped and he joined me", I said breaking the excitement or should I say over excitement
Seeing us quarrel, the guy laughed,
"Sorry...no offense, but I guess you're best friends", he said
"Well bingo, how did you know?"
"By seeing you fight like that. I haven't seen this good sense of humor since school", he said
"Well then, gentlemen, shall we introduce ourselves? This is Emily, hi I am Ava and you are?"
"Hi Emily, hi Ava", he said shaking his hands with us," I am Lucas", he said not breaking the eye contact with me
"Hi Lucas", I said smiling
"Hi Lucas", Emily jumped in excitement
As our introductions were over, the speech finally started. [Don't worry not writing the speech here]
"Thank you and once again welcome to The Enfield University. Enjoy while you're here and also study while you are here", saying this the Principal finally walked off the stage and all the students started to move out.
"Hey, why don't we explore the campus?", I suggested
"Sounds good to me", Lucas said
"Um...no, I'll just go and check out the seniors...might help us ahead", saying this Emily left me and Lucas alone
We exchanged awkward expressions and burst into laughter. I decided to break the silence as it was getting only weirder
"So, what do you do, what are hobbies, etc, let's start", I said
"Ok, I completed my graduation 3 years ago in commerce and now I am in the management department", he said
"Oh what a coincidence, I'm in the management department too. I graduated a year ago in Business Administration", I said
"Wow, that's a hell lot of business", he asked
"Well seems like that, I'm 22",
"I'm 25"
"Wow, I'll need to teach me then sir"
"Hey there, I'm not that old, stop teasing me"
"Just kidding, I know in PG many people study immediately, many take time"
"Well that's mature coming from you"
"Hahaha...it's because of my mom, she completed her PG just 8 years ago, but look at me"
"Hmm...nice, so you have any siblings?"
"Yup, I have a twin, twin sister Mia"
"Wow that's cool, what does she do?"
"Photography, and unlike me, she's good at her thing"
"Hey don't say that I'm sure you're good too"
"Ok, how can you say that?"
"I dunno, just a feeling...that you're special"
I blushed a little when he said that, "Hey you're ruing my reput, guys don't speak to tomboys like that. I'm a half-boy, I don't dress up, don't wear make-up, walk casually and I'm definitely, not pretty", I said
"You're no one to judge, you're you...and that what makes you beautiful", he said
I moved my eyes and smiled. We walked together around the campus, we found good places to sit, places to study and places to eat together. I was falling in love with my campus and getting excited to imagine what's next...
