After some time, when Lucas and I finished roaming around the campus, I decided to head home. I called up Em to confirm if she'd come along, but she said she was busy with others. So, Lucas walked me till the parking lot,
"Ok, see you on Monday", Lucas said
"Hey, want a ride?", I asked
"Nope, I can go by myself"
"It's ok, we're friends now, don't be so formal"
"No, I have to stop on the way, so you carry on"
"Ok", I said and left the parking
I inserted the key and started the engine. I drove down the alley when Mia called me. I connected the phone with the Bluetooth headset dad gifted me last year.
"Yeah wassup?", I asked
"Where are you?", she asked
"Um...just left the campus parking"
"Ok..."
"Where are you?"
"Oh, I just finished with my orientation too, so what's the plan?"
"Um...let's go to our place then", I said
"Fine, pick me up I'm near the Centro", she said
"Share your location", I said switching my GPS
As she shared the location, I followed the route and picked her up in 15 minutes. I drove my Chevrolet towards the Cafe near our street and got out of the car after parking it. We decided to grab something to eat before we headed home.

I saw the corner couch empty and both of us walked towards the seat to occupy it before anyone else does. With all the people around, we could use some privacy to talk. As I placed my bag on the couch beside where Mia sat I asked her to order
"What do you wanna have?", I asked
"I think I'll have the blueberry cheesecake and before that, I want to have an espresso", she said
"Ok, I'll go and order then", I said and walked towards the counter where only one lady was standing
It was our usual twin's hangout place. Only this place relaxed us after a tiring and hectic day. I got into the line and a few minutes later it was my turn to order,
"Hello Ava", the counter greeted me
"Hi Sandra, how's the day going?", I asked
"Uh... don't ask, it's stuffed. Well it's a good thing because we get an extra tip", she laughed
"Ok...um, I want a double choco-chip chocolate pastry with a latte and also a blueberry cheesecake with an espresso for Mia", I said
"That'll be all?", she confirmed
"Yup", I said and paid for the order
After taking the receipt, I walked towards our table. I moved my bag and sat on the couch comfortably. My latte and her espresso arrived on the table first and we started to talk.
"How was your day?", she asked
"Interesting actually, met new people, made a new friend", I said
"Wow my sis, you're getting into the field, you finally made a new friend beside Emily, so tell me more about it", she curiously looked at me taking a sip of her espresso
I took a sip of my latte and cleared my throat and said," It's a coincidence, he just happened to bump into me"
"Wait he's a he?", she gave a shockingly happy expression and stopped sipping her coffee
"Ok...calm down"
"What's his name? How does he look? Tell me, tell me", she said excitedly
By the time I started talking about Lucas our pastries arrived on the table. I took my fork and started eating the pastry. As I spoke more about Lucas, her curiosity increased.
"So what do you think about him?", she asked
"What do you mean? He's a friend, I just met him", I said
"Really...are you sure?", she said teasingly
"Eat your cheesecake girl", I said and shut her mouth
She started to speak about her new friends and new work they will start working on from Monday. After all our chitchats and finishing our cake we decided it was time we left for home. While we were about to leave, a few weirdos circled around us,
"Hi there hot stuff, wanna join us for a coffee?", the guy said
"Hey, watch your mouth boy", I said in anger
"Hey, I wasn't talking to you nerd, stay out of it", saying this as he turned towards Mia
SLAP...she slapped on his face
"Watch your sh**** mouth ok, that's my sister you're talking to", she said her eyes red in anger
"How dare you..."
He started to walk close to Mia when Sandra asked one of the boys on the counter to call the cops. As he heard this, the guy left with his people in fear. Sandra walked towards us and said reassuringly, "Don't worry guys, that guy is visible on our CCTV, I won't let them get away with this"
Before Sandra could finish, Mia walked out in anger. I thanked Sandra and rushed out to follow Mia. I pulled the car keys and unlocked the car. She opened the door and hopped in and shut the door in anger. I rushed to the car and hopped in too
"Well, I know that guy is sh** face, but my car door's gonna break", I said trying to make her laugh
"It's not funny Ava", she said crossing her hands and looking away from me
"Ok then, would like to tell why are you angry?"
"He called you a NERD, if you wouldn't have stopped me, I would've punched the sh*** out of his face"
"Oh my angry bird, calm down and besides, he wasn't wrong now was he?"
"What do you mean Ava?"
"I mean, I am a nerd, I wear boyish clothes, I have glasses and on the other hand, you're so beautiful, so pleasant and so attractive. Compared to you, I look a nerd", I said moving my eyes to the road instead of looking at her
As I drove calmly, suddenly I felt someone slapped me,
"Ouch, that hurt", I said using my left hand to rub the slapped part
"Yeah and so did your words. How dare you call yourself a nerd, maybe you're not so girly like me, but you're you okay, and I love you for who you are and remember, people who love the real you, only they can see how beautiful of a person you are, okay?", she said placing her right hand on my left cheek
A tear rolled down my cheek blurring my eyes a little as I turned to look towards her
"If I wasn't driving now, I'd really pull my little twin into a hug", I said
"Hey...what little, it's just 7 mins difference", she said wiping her tear
We reached home after a drive of 15 minutes. As I looked at the door, the lock was already open,
