Taya let out a sharp wince as the woman who had the clipboard cut into Taya. Taya had been all caught up, she knew what they were doing. She was also informed that it hurt like nothing else.

"See, it's black, fascinating. However, all the tests I've run shows it no different, it should work just fine." She commented to her nurse. Taya got chills about how detached she seemed about this.

The doctor was handed the drill. "Don't worry, this won't hurt." She straight up lied.

"Go float yourself." Taya spat out, gripping the operation table as she tried to ready herself. The drill whirling to life made her queasy.

"Don't do this! No! No!" Monty shook his cage as he begged. Harper was too weak to move in her cell.

Taya could feel the air from the drill circulating against her skin when the door flew open.

"Mr. President." The doctor said in shock, springing back and allowing Taya to breathe again.

"Put that down. Get away from that girl." This man who Taya assumed was President Wallace ordered.

"Jasper!" Monty called.

"Monty!" Jasper rushed forward to his friends side, completely skipping over Taya.

"Release them." The president ordered and they rushed to do that. Someone else went to undo Taya's bind only for the president to stop them.

"The Ground is our birthright. You can't keep us from that." The doctor threatened him.

"Watch me." He growled. He may have been old, but he was intimidating. "Lock her up."

Someone dragged her away and the man turned to Taya.

"Who are you?" He questioned.

"Taya King. Captured by Mountain Men, she figured out I was from The Ark." Taya explained, already having memorized her perfect lie. "Now, I kinda like you for stopping her from home-depoting my ass, don't change that by leaving me here in chains."

"Okay, release her. I should check out your story, but... Go back to the dorm and tell your friends to pack their things. You're going home."

"Thank you." Jasper nodded and Taya got up, moving to help Harper so Jasper could help Monty.

"Taya, boy do I have some questions for you." Jasper stated.

"Hopefully I have the answers." Taya replied before focusing on basically carrying Harper.

"Alright, listen up. There's gonna be questions but there's no time. We're getting out of here. So pack your stuff." Jasper ordered and Taya was honestly impressed. She never saw him as the leading type but it appeared he'd made a good one.

"What are you talking about?" Fox asked.

"It's not safe here." Taya spoke up.

"They're letting us go?" Miller scoffed, not believing it.

"Yes. Right now, before they change their minds." Jasper nodded.

"Jasper what the hell's going on?" Fox snapped.

"Everything they told you has been a lie. The Ark is on the ground and none of us are safe here. You want to live long enough to get an explanation? Start packing." Taya barked her orders and the news caused people to do as she ordered.

"Now!" Jasper yelled causing everyone to pick up their pace.

Taya watched the door worriedly as everyone scrambled. She had nothing to pack, but she was trying to figure out how to get Bellamy. If he was even still alive.
