Time flew and before I knew it, it was the last day for seniors to report to school. I sat in the band room with Kelsey, Sean, and Dante just enjoying our last day in high school. Senior year was definitely a year I would never forget. From me meeting Dante to all the drama in between, I had no regrets. Chanel and I remain close and she always informs me of how she is doing. She has really picked herself since the talk we had at the Renaissance Center. There was also bad news though, as Chanel ended up coming on her period and found out that she had lost the baby due to her own body conditions. It crushed her when she found out she would have a hard time carrying a child, even in the future. But she said that if God ever allowed her to carry and deliver a child, she would treasure it. Chanel had definitely began to show great change in herself.

Dante was very understanding with me and Chanel still remaining close, although he does still have his doubts with it. But me and him have been happy in these months that we have dated. We’re still just working out how college might go since there’s been a few problems with that but I am hoping for the best. I look at my life and look at where I am at now and where I was back in January. I definitely feel accomplished with that but I am getting off topic. Lord my head hurts.

“I can’t believe this is all about to be over.” Kelsey said, sounding a little saddened.

“I know, right? I wish there was more time. We really had some great times.” I replied.

“Shit, I am going to miss you guys and all, but I’m ready to get the hell out of this place!” Sean exclaimed, chewing on a straw. Kelsey rolled her eyes and I couldn’t help but chuckle. Dante had his head on my shoulder just listening to the three of us talk.

“I still can’t believe the date you brought to prom.” I said to Sean.

“Right!” Kelsey said in agreeance.

“Y’all are just hatin’. That girl was fine.” Sean replied, furrowing his eyebrows.

“She was also dumb as a box of rocks.” Kelsey added. I nodded with a big grin on my face.

“Beggars can’t be choosers.” Sean said with a shrug.

“Dante and Marcus were looking so cute together!” Kelsey squealed, ignoring Sean. I couldn’t help but blush a bit.

“What can we say? We just look that good.” Dante cooed with his smug smile. This made me laugh a bit as I simply nodded. Me and Dante wore the colors black and gold with matching masks. The theme for prom was masquerade.

“Don’t get a big head now.” Kelsey exhorted, pushing her glasses from her nose. We continued reminiscing about prom and a few other events that had happened. Pretty soon, it was time for us to go to some of our last few classes to take our finals. I know I did really well since I’ve always been a great test taker. As the day came to an end, the graduating seniors were telling their friends goodbye who were underclassmen and wished them luck in the upcoming school year. Today was definitely bittersweet for all of us. We were happy to finally be graduating but sad that it was finally coming to an end.

Band practice was no different today, as most of us would still continue coming up to practice until we finally had to go to college in the fall. But still, we won’t be able to perform with the band anymore and will really only get to play at the 4th of July parade one last time. This excludes our school’s Jamboree since that is a time when all the alumni can come back but I’m getting off track. I just love the band.
