"Nightmare!"
He groaned, rolling off to the side of his bed, getting rid of the pesky voice in his head.
"Wake up."
He buried his head in the pillow, lifting up his finger, flipping Dream off before letting it fall limp to his side. Dream only sighed, whether it was of annoyance or affection, Nightmare didn't know. But what he did know, was that he didn't wanna get up.
"Five more minutes." He heard the sound of Dream's footsteps as he walked around the room.
"It's 11:00 am, Nightmare."
"I don't care."
"...Feisty is hungry." Nightmare shot up and bolted out of the room, kicking the door off in the process. Feisty was his cat, and, well; is feisty. He had met it while it was raining outside, and the cat had managed to sneak in, only to be permanently adopted into the household. It was originally a matted skinny grey cat, and neither Dream nor Nightmare knew its gender. Now, Nightmare has spoiled the sh*t out of the cat, so it was your regular fat lazy cat that didn't show much affection (not true, though).
Rushing into the living room, Nightmare frantically looked around for his fluffy cinnamon roll, who was laying on the big couch, not a care in the world. He turned towards Dream, whom just now walked in, a cheeky grin on his face. Nightmare narrowed his eyes.
"How dare you lie to me, I trusted you."
"Yes, and now you're out of bed, so it worked." He exclaimed, slyly looking at his goopy broody brother. Nightmare lashed out one of his tentacles around Dream, making him squeak as he was dragged onto the couch that Feisty was currently on. Well, he wasn't sitting on it as he was still stuck in the tentacle, while Nightmare was on the couch, grabbing a book and petting Feisty. The cat purred in its sleep and curled up next to Nightmare as he read his book.
Dream pouted, trying to wriggle out, completely forgetting about his own animal form that could easily get out. As you can see, Nightmare's animal form is an octopus, but he's not really fully being an octopus right now, cause there's no water, and he preferred it over his monster form; which only Dream knows about. Nightmare had some good night vision and had a negativity aura. In a way, he controlled darkness and fear, which looks pretty fitting for him.
Dream finally remembered about his animal form and transformed into a dog, a Golden Retriever specifically. Being smaller than he already is, Dream easily slipped out of Nightmare's grasp, landing gracefully before turning back into his monster form. Nightmare only barely glanced at him, continuing to read his book and pet Feisty. Dream had the opposite powers of Nightmare, he had a positivity aura. He also controlled light and had some kind of bow of positivity, he's never used it before, so he doesn't know how it works. Nightmare had a staff, but he had to be in his monster form in order to summon it, so he rarely ever uses it.
The two didn't really mix well before, especially in school, which they have already luckily graduated out of that hellhole. You would've thought Dream had a good time, well, he did at first. But eventually, he realized that people only wanted to use him for positivity, they never really saw him for who he was. Obviously Nightmare didn't understand at first, but he caught up with it; and they've been doing a whole lot better than before.
Dream walked into the kitchen, beginning to prepare brunch since it seemed too late for breakfast. Well, Nightmare didn't care about what Dream cooked since he wasn't really a picky eater, so it was easy for Dream. He wasn't a terrible cook, no, that's Nightmare. Dream would like to think of himself as mediocre, but he fell short sometimes. He wasn't exactly good, just better than Nightmare. After preparing some bacon and eggs, he started frying, loving the sizzling sound and the smell that wafted around the house; dragging Nightmare to the kitchen with Feisty in his arms.
