This was a bad idea. He just wanted to quickly get some of cake mix for baking ideas he had for tomorrow. But on the way, he got distracted by an alley cat, and now he was lost in some dark parts of the city. And on top of that, he had lost the cat and still hadn't gotten any brownie mix.Blue had been wandering around for two hours, not calling for help since his gut was telling him not to. Stretch must be worried sick right now, since it was so late. The sky had already darkened, there would have stars out if he wasn't in the city. But all he could do was find anywhere that could help him. Of course Blue didn't wanna walk door to door to ask for shelter.
This neighbourhood looked shifty, all the houses were old and broken. Rats were scurrying around, and there were so many dark areas where Blue couldn't see anything.
And he swore he was being watched, yet whenever he turned to where he thought they were, there was no one.
A shiver rolled down his spine, whether it was from the cold night rain that had started rolling, or the creepy vibe, Blue didn't know. Tears started rolling down his cheeks, as he quietly whimpered on the side of the street, hugging his arms. This wasn't going well, and if Blue was gonna stay here, he can only imagine what would happen.
He looked around at the houses, but he knew no one would let him in. Blue was now drenched, trembling visibly, as he sat down on the mushy grass. His vision was starting to get blurry, and he heard something.
No. Someone.
Whoever it was, he didn't know what they were saying. Blue saw them kneel down to his sitting level. He was a skeleton, he had a hood on, probably to cover the rain. His left pupil was red with a blue ring inside of it, while the right was just red. He was saying something, but Blue couldn't make out the words.
Blue was shivering violently, and the other skeleton seemed to have noticed that. He felt himself being picked up, and welcomed the warmth that enveloped him. The skeleton started walking, probably to their house.
When he neared, Blue recognizes it as one of those shady looking houses. But he didn't care, this person was being nice to him, there's no way Blue was going to judge him just because of wherever he lived.
As he fumbled with the door knob, it opened with a slight creak.
"Dust, what did you do now?" So his name was Dust. Blue could see two skeletons on a couch in what appeared to be a living room.
One had a hole in his skull, and he was the one that talked. His left pupil was red, while the other was just an empty eye socket. He looked scary, but Blue didn't want to judge him.
The other skeleton had a hot cup of cocoa in his hands, and looked awful. He had bags under his eye sockets, terrible dark ones. But his pupils were both purple hearts that Blue would consider beautiful. Some of his clothes were singed on the edges. Now that Blue saw it, the other skeleton also had burnt clothes.
Were these two in a fire? Dust also had them.
"Nothing, actually. This guy was out in the rain." Blue needed to speak.
"I-I got... lost." Blue had coughed in between his sentence, and he inwardly cringed at the croak in his voice.
"Are you homeless?" Asked the tired looking skeleton, he sounded concerned. Blue decided that he liked him. Also Dust.
"No. I live...oh, I don't know how far away this is to my house."
"How long were you lost?" Dust had sat him down on the other sofa, while going off to get something. He shivered, the warmth that Dust had offered was now gone.
