Yes, I haven't forgotten about this. There is no way on earth am I going to leave you all on a cliffhanger. I may have done it for about a month and a half, but no more.

Yes, I will edit this later so it is better written.

Yes, this is half of a chapter and is pretty long.

Yes, I do still love you all.

And no, I will not take such a stupid amount of break time again. I have no excuses for the huge delay, all I can say is that I am sorry.

(Yes, this chapter is rushed...sorry.)

Cross felt himself take control again, unwillingly. Tears fell out of his eye sockets uncontrollably, as he knelt down and tried desperately to pick up the remnants of the key. And before he could do anything, the pain suddenly kicked in.

He fell forward to the ground and face planted into the shattered pieces, undoubtedly bringing cuts onto his face. It was unbearable, every bit of bone in his body writhed in agony. With quivering and weak as jelly arms, he tried his best to lift his face up, but all he could do was turn around to the real monster behind him. It was standing there, its arms remaining passive at its sides. Within milliseconds, its own smile grew wider than it already was, and the mouth opened to let out a high pitched repetitive gurgling sound. And then it clicked for Cross.

It was laughing.

The creature rose an arm, ready to end his misery, and Cross couldn't move, even if he wasn't frozen by fear.

A tentacle suddenly launched towards it, sinking right through the skull. Its smile stayed there, as it twitched it's heads ever so slightly to the other goopy monster in the hallway. Slowly, the creature started melting, not burning through the floor as expected.

Cross wanted to smile, to say something, anything.

"Cross, are you okay?" Chara hovered over him, looking terribly concerned.

He was about to nod, having expected the pain for a shattered key to be a lot more painful. Sure, it still hurt a lot, and he feels like he can't move, but it doesn't necessarily seem lethal anymore.

Or so he thought.

Cross felt the whole world pause for him, no one was moving or reacting. It was all silent, and all of a sudden he felt a dark presence completely surrounding him. Suddenly, his vision dimmed, everything lost its colour, he couldn't hear, and he couldn't feel anything. The only thing thing that hadn't lost its hue was the broken remnants of his key. A face appeared out of nowhere, or what you could consider one. Just a husk of a head, no eyes, no nose, no ears, but a smile. Slowly, wide and terrifying eyes fluttered open, taking shape like a clay mould. Its mouth opened to form a wide fanged smile, and it spoke.

"Boo."

He let out a choked scream, shaking and twitching, laying on the ground and unable to control his body. He couldn't move, but he was moving anyway. Although Cross had no authority over his own limbs anymore, it was still moving, and painfully so.

"Cross!" Both Chara and Nightmare yelled, as the one in a solid form urgently ran over to him and kneeled beside the dying skeleton.

"Oh f*ck, what do I do?" Carefully, he brushed fragments of the key that Cross didn't know was on his face. Nightmare raised his hand, as it had also picked up blood from the cuts, as well as the hot tears that are still streaming down his face. Gently, his fingers started to glow a light lavender as he quickly attempted to heal the ex-guardian's face, having forgotten his healing magic is weaker now due to not being in passive form. He cursed again, staring wide eyed in fear for what might happen.
