Even though I was awake I didn't want to open my eyes. This would mean that I had to go out and fight... I turned the other way and tried to fall asleep again. But I was not tired. I was wide awake. And I was so nervous. It was already obvious to me. I didn't want to kill him.. not anymore. I was sure that telling him this was not an option. So I decided. I would fight. If I lose... well... I will die. But this was our deal. I will not be able to go back to the village anyways. And if I win? I will go... no... not home, because I didn't have a home. I will not be welcomed in the village. I was a thieve...and a traitor in a way. So I had to find another place to live. Somewhere far far away from here...

"Just so you know..." I heard his voice "I am fully aware that you are awake." I sighed and opened my eyes. He was drinking tea or coffee. "You overslept." He announced and I didn't feel like asking why he didn't wake me... "The weather's too sunny and warm to fight now. I suggest we wait? Until the evening?" I nodded. Can we wait longer? Tomorrow? Another week? Or two?

I got up from my improvised bed and put my hair back in a ponytail. He has already watered the plant that o planted. I guess everything will be all right when I am no longer here. I guess it will be just like before for him... well... he will have a flower to water from time to time but I guess this will be the only difference. For him, It doesn't matter if I win or lose. He will live either way.

"Do you want tea?" he asked me. I nodded again and sat in the chair in front of him. He smiled calmly. "You didn't feel like talking today, ha?" I sighed.

"Kind of." I said.

"To be honest I hoped you would be rather talkative today." I raised an eyebrow. "I am not sure... it's either because I won't hear you talk again...or because if you keep talking the possibility of you saying something that will piss me off enough is higher. It will be easier to kill you that way." The honesty in his tone was awful. I could feel a lump in my throat.

"So I guess it's better to stay silent." I said and took the mug that he gave me. The tea was warm.

"Are your weapons ready?" he asked and I nodded. Yes...all of my knives were as sharp as they could be... "Good"

She fixed the ribbon on her hair and took the knife in her hand. To be honest I asked if she wanted to use another weapon since the sword had longer range but she declined. She was waiting for me to attack first. And I was waiting for her. It took her too long so I charged first...Okay... let's get this over with.

She jumped back and threw one of her knives at me. The knife scratched my hand and my blood dripped on the ground. Okay... I need something to remind me that this was not us just training. I saw the way she looked at me like she was about to apologize, and I didn't want to hear it... so I attacked again. She was mostly trying to run away from my attacks. But this was okay. Maybe she was hoping I will get tired before her.

After a few minutes, I realized what she was doing. She was trying to get rid of the sword in my hands. She was aiming there. Smart. She really was a smart one. I attacked again and she moved again. Rushed next to me and I was expecting her to try to push me but she stabbed my arm with one of the kunais. More blood... and my sword was on the ground. And that's when she tried to push me.

Thank you... for really fighting...for reminding me that we had to fight.

I grabbed her hand and twisted it. It probably hurt. I knew it did... by the sound she made and the quick way she jumped back. But at the same time, she kicked my sword making the distance even greater. Okay. I was already bleeding and I had no weapon. She had the advantage. Good...she was doing great. It was making me happy. Her progress.
