Chapter 33: Twice As Painful

3rd Person Pov:
A zombie hit the ground as Seokjin sliced through it with his scythe. "That's all the zombies for now!" He exclaimed to everyone behind him. Everyone nodded and noticed the scene that Joonie, Taehyung, and Yoongi were making. There laid Yoongi on Joonie's lap as Taehyung tried to figure out what was wrong. "Yoongi! Yoongi! Are you okay?" He asked, desperately trying to get an answer. The rest of the team rushed to aid their friend yet, Seokjin and Seung knew what was going to happen. "Taehyung, I know this is hard to say but, Yoongi. He's turning into one." Seung spoke, her facial expression saddened. Taehyung felt his heart stop and he turned pale as he looked down at his lover. "No, you're wrong. He can't be!" Taehyung yelled back, tears forming in his eyes. Seung looked at Seokjin for some advice on how to handle the situation. Jin shrugged not knowing what to do, after all, another member was turning into a zombie. Whether they liked it or not. Whether it hurt them it not. "Yoongi! Yoongi! Respond, please!" Taehyung continued to exclaim, now shaking Yoongi's body. Hoseok couldn't stand seeing his friend like this and so he hid his face against Jungkook's shoulder. "Please, respond! I need to hear your voice again, please!" Taehyung continued on, tears now streaming his face. Everyone stood there not knowing what to do or say. They lost Jimin and now, they were going to lose Yoongi to the zombie virus. It was too much to handle for everyone. Seokjin looked down at his hands realizing he hadn't made any progress on an antidote for the zombie outbreak. He was too occupied with everything that was happening that he didn't realize the mistake he was doing. And now, it was too late.

As Taehyung continued to plead, Joonie couldn't help but, look down at the member in his lap. He couldn't believe what he was seeing or hearing. A friend he just remembered was going to turn into something like him. A mindless zombie with no memory whose only impulse is to convert other humans into zombies. Joonie wondered what he was feeling as he saw his friend on his lap. He felt this pit in his stomach, he felt this pain in his heart, and his eyes burned. How was he feeling all these emotions? Isn't he a zombie and not a human?

Seung nudged Seokjin's shoulder and he sighed as he walked over to Taehyung. "Tae, I'm sorry but, I believe Yoongi is going to turn into a zombie," Jin spoke, gently. "No! You're wrong! My Yoongi is still there! We cut his infected arm off!" Taehyung yelled, denying the obvious fact in front of him. "Taehyung, look at me. I'm sorry but, it seemed the infection was already spreading." Seokjin explained, making Taehyung face him. After that statement was said, everything turned silent. No one said a word as they looked at their member on Joonie's lap.

Suddenly, Yoongi shifted a little and opened one of his eyes. Everyone softly gasped and Joonie looked up at Taehyung. Joonie slowly let Taehyung take his place as he let Yoongi rest his head on his lover's lap. "TaeTae? What's going on?" Yoongi asked, voice soft and broken. "Yoongi! Are you okay?" Taehyung exclaimed, smiling as he tried to wipe away his tears. "Taehyung, don't cry, please. Don't cry for me, please." Yoongi spoke, noticing how red his lover's eyes were. "I can't, I'm sorry. I'm not strong enough." Taehyung replied, tears continuing to stream down his face.

"Kim Taehyung, listen to me," Yoongi spoke, his voice shaking. "I'm afraid I have to go. I'm sorry, Tae." He spoke, a small tear streamed down his left cheek. "It's okay, Yoonie. I fucking love you so much." Taehyung responded, pressing a kiss against Yoongi's forehead. No one could stop themselves from crying not even Joonie who now had a tear streaming down his face. "I love you too, Taehyung. I'll miss you..." Yoongi whispered as he slowly closed his eyes. Taehyung put his face against his lover's limp body as he started to cry. Hoseok and Jungkook both hugged as they couldn't help but, cry.

Seokjin and Seung both looked down as tears formed in their eyes. Joonie looked at everyone confused as a tear streamed down his face. He looked at Taehyung and Yoongi and still didn't understand what he was feeling. He looked in the distance for a second and he saw them. "Zombies!" He exclaimed and everyone looked in the distance. In the distance was another pack of zombies walking right toward them. Everyone pulled out their weapon ready to attack and protect one another. "Wait! What's happening to Yoongi?" Taehyung asked and Seokjin looked behind.

He saw Yoongi's body shake as his pupils were rolled back with foam coming from his mouth. "Taehyung, get away from him! He's turning into a zombie!" Seokjin yelled, eyes widening at the scene. Taehyung hesitated for a moment until he slowly looked back up at Seokjin and shook his head. "Taehyung!" Jin exclaimed, worried for his friend. "I'm sorry, Jin. Someone has to keep Yoongi from attacking us from behind." Taehyung explained, his grip on his lover tightened. "Taehyung, no. Don't do this. Don't be the hero, goddamit!" Seokjin yelled, tears forming once again. "Please, let me do it. I wanna be and stay with Yoongi! I'm sorry." Taehyung exclaimed and everyone else turned around.

Seokjin sighed heavily and he looked up with a smile on his face and nodded. "Thank you. No, go! Run!" Taehyung yelled as Yoongi stopped shaking. Everyone hesitated and waved goodbye to Taehyung with tears in their eyes as they ran. Seokjin stayed back for a while to look at Taehyung for one last time. "Go, Hyung. Thank you for everything. Goodbye." Taehyung spoke, smiling with tears streaming his face. Suddenly, Yoongi bit his neck and Taehyung groaned in pain.

Seokjin bolted as he continued to look behind him.
