I stared after him in shock before I shook my head and sighed. I wasn't going to even question it because I had a feeling that it was because he was of the original Ten.

Turning my attention back to the CD, I moved my hand across the lettering, my heart aching because I missed her so much.

My Love, Xavier.

"Oh, Cass," I said with a soft sigh. "What did you leave me this time?" I asked, praying that it wouldn't be anything bad. I took a deep breath and shook my head before I opened the case and took out the CD.

Like the last time Cass gave me a CD, I opened the disk reader and placed the CD in, listening to the steady eeeerrrmmm of the CD player while the player read the disk.

Again, Cass's face appeared on my screen, and she looked so much healthier than she had when I saw her in the battle. However, she had this dazed look in her eyes and a half smile on her face, and I had a feeling that something happened.

But, I wouldn't know until I pressed play, so I pressed play, wanting to know what she had to tell me.

Cass stirred and blinked at the camera. She cocked her head and smiled that smile that took my breath away. "So," she said. "If you are watching this, then it means that I am dead."

She furrowed her brows and cocked her head. "Or, I think I will be dead. I don't know." She shrugged her shoulders and moved side to side. "I don't know what the future holds for me, but I am ok with it. Currently, I am stuck in a dreamlike state while a group of people that are descended from the original Ten who are trying to control me."

She shrugged. "I have no idea how that is going for them, and I so totally can not wait to kick their ass when I get out of this..." She furrowed her brows, and her voice trailed off.

She jerked back as if waking herself from a dream, and I flinched in surprise because I did not expect that. Again, she furrowed her brows. "I so totally can not wait to kick their ass when I get out of this dreamlike state," she said, finishing her sentence.

She sighed and moved a hand across her face before she shook her head, trying to "wake" herself up. "I am probably going to hurt the Ten, too. It feels like I am tripping on something, again, and I do not like it at all."

I raised an eyebrow and stayed silent while she swayed back and forth. I wondered what she meant, but I had a feeling that I would never know.

"Oh ya..," she said while she stopped herself from swaying from side to side. She furrowed her brows. "I am descended from four of the original Ten. I am not allowed to say who they are, but what I can say is that what we had discussed in the van is true. I am descended from those two, and I hope that you know what I mean."

I nodded when she gave me a pointed look, even though I knew that she couldn't see me. I had a feeling that she was talking about her relationship with both Ingford the Chosen and Fia the Kind.

She started to sway again and a dazed smile appeared on her lips. She didn't say a word while she did this, but I didn't because I could watch her doing this for as long as possible.

Finally, she shook her head and stopped swaying. She looked at me, and I still had that feeling she could see right through the camera and at me. "I do have something to ask of you, Xavier, and I pray that you will do it. However, I know how much of a struggle this will be for you."

I lifted myself from my chair and leaned forward. My heart pounded in my chest, and I waited for her to say something, wondering what she wanted me to do.

A sad smile appeared on her face, and she cocked her head. "I want you to stay alive, Xavier," she said, finally. "I want you to live and to take care of not only yourself but those that rely on you."

She sighed and closed her eyes before she opened them again. "You are now the sole caretaker of TJ, Clara, and Bryson. I trust you with their care, and I know that you will do an amazing job with them."

My heart broke because I knew that this meant goodbye. I knew that she had given them to me, so I could take care of them if she died, and it had happened.

However, I was going to do the best damn job I could do and treat better than my father had treated me. I would make sure that they didn't need anything and live in a house full of love and laughter, something that I hadn't had when I was a kid.

Cass smiled, sadly. "Another thing that I want you to do is to find love. I want you to find someone that you can love and can love you. You deserve it, Xavier, for all the shit that you had been through."

I pursed my lips because I didn't want anyone else. All I wanted was her, and that she was gone, I didn't want anyone else.

Cass smiled and gave me a knowing as if she knew something that I didn't. "You will find somebody," she said in a way that I believed her. She shrugged and grimaced. "I don't know who, and I don't know when, but I know that you will find somebody that will love you just as much as me and maybe even more."

She blinked and cocked her head. "Yes," she mused. "You will find somebody."

She stirred and shook her head before she cleared her throat. "Just know that I love you and will always love you with every part of my being."

Again, she cleared her throat and her lips. "And, I will see you soon." She started to sway again and had a dazed smile on her face. "Yes," she said. "I will see you soon."

She stopped swaying and smiled that smile that I fell in with again. "And, I hope you will learn to love me again." And with that, she placed her hand over the camera, and the screen turned black.
