"Where are you going momma?" Kelly asked innocently as she watched Arachnia seemingly get ready to leave once again. The child could sense something wrong, Arachnia was not acting like herself. The techno organic was in a grim and solemn mood, in addition she was wearing her helmet again, which was odd. Even though it was obvious that something was not right Arachnia still tried to put up a facade and pretend that everything was alright.

"Well Kelly", Arachnia began, forcing on a smile. "Momma is going to go take care of something very important today, and I might be gone longer than usual."

Kelly scrunched up her face as she frowned. "You will come back right?"

For the first time that day, Arachnia conveyed actual emotion as she frowned and knelt down. She placed her servo down in front of the young girl. Kelly hopped on, grasping Arachnias digit with one hand to keep balance while her other hand clasped her doll close to her chest. Bringing the girl up until they were at perfect eye/optic level. "Why are you asking that? I always come back. Why do you think this will be any different?" Arachnia inquired.

Kelly swayed back and forth on her heels awkwardly, trying to find the right words to say. "You're acting funny and different," she said in a small voice.

Arachnia sighed, bringing Kelly down to hold her close to her chassis, allowing the warmth of her spark to comfort the child. Kelly relaxed and snuggled close. "Kelly, nothing will keep me from coming back to you..."

-----------

That conversation had been one week ago, and a week ago Arachnia left and still hasn't come back. Kelly waited, alone. There was still a hearty stockpile of food supplies, but they were not going to last forever. Kelly sat on her silk bed, holding Mary Anne close, that doll being her only source of companionship. The child scooped a handful of silk from beside her. The silk was now soggy and lumpy, not as soft and comfy as it used to be. A single tear fell before being joined by others as Kelly began to cry. She sobbed, curling into a ball as she buried her face into her arms, bringing her knees close to her chest.

"I don't understand Lucy Anne, Momma promised," Kelly sniffled, looking with glossy red eyes down at her doll. "Why would she promise then not keep her promise?"

Kelly could not understand why her adoptive mother had abandoned her. Was it her? Had she done something wrong? Was she not being a good girl? Yes, she was well aware that she had gotten into trouble that one time, but she behaved and always did what she was told. Was she being too annoying and scared her momma away?

As Kellys head spun and hurt from all her distressed thoughts, she cried harder and harder, anguished sobs echoing off the cave walls. She continued her ululations until finally she cried herself to sleep.

Kelly woke up in the middle of the night. The moon light shone into the pitch black cave, casting eerie shadows on the cave walls. Kelly's overactive imagination began to think the shadows were coming to get her. Stop it, theres no monsters, she tried to reason with herself.

Sleeping alone in the mines felt like a cause for PTSD. Kelly swore she could hear uncanny sounds echoing deep within the mines. Normally, she paid no mind to these sounds because Arachnia would be there to protect. Now, all alone, she felt isolated and trapped. Where else could she go? ? Who will she run to when monsters were coming to get her?

Suddenly, she could hear something resembling loud footsteps and metal clanking. The sounds were so loud and ominous that they seemed to resound off the walls and bounce back just to terrify the poor girl more. Then came a shadow, large, menacing, and it was growing bigger as it engulfed Kelly. Kelly wrapped her blanket closer as she shivered violently, partly out of cold but mostly out of pure fear. She shook her head in denial. "It's not real, there's nothing there," she whispered, trying to convince herself.

The figure now loomed over her now. A lone tear rolled down Kellys cheek. This was it. No one else was left to protect her, the only person she thought she could depend on had abandoned her and now she was all alone. She braced herself for the worse, then a voice spoke.

"Kelly?"

That voice...could it really be?

Kelly immediately sat up and stared up at familiar multiple glowing red optics in the dark, staring down at her with love and affection.

"Momma!" Kelly exclaimed happily, jumping up and being deftly caught by her Arachnia.

"Sunshine..." Arachnia spoke her little nickname for the child with such love. "...I'm so glad you're okay."

Arachnia fell onto her knees, holding Kelly close to her spark chamber. Kelly embraced her momma the best she could, beginning to cry. "Momma! Why were you gone so long?! I was scared! I was scared!" She sobbed.  "I-I...I thought you ran away from me!"

Kelly was pressing her forehead up against Arachnia's chassis, sobbing hysterically, her shoulders shaking. Movement was felt as Arachnia removed her helmet simultaneously holding Kelly with one servo.

"Kelly..." Arachnia called.

Kelly clenched her eyes, sniffling as she turned her gaze upwards to find Arachnia also on the verge of tears. "Kelly, Sunshine...I didn't mean to be gone so long."

Kelly was lifted to be at perfect level with Arachnia's gaze, her tears visibly shining in the dark. "But know this, I would never abandon you. And I came back didn't I? Just like I promised."

Kelly thought about it then nodded as she moved closer as she once again hugged Arachnia, just like she had the first time the techno organic had removed her helmet and allowed herself to be vulnerable. "Please...promise you won't do it again," Kelly whispered, her voice breaking.

Arachnia put a servo over Kelly, her own tears falling. "I promise."

The both of them stood there in silence, just euphoric to be reunited with each other. When they finally parted, Kelly still had her head low, sniffling. Arachnia delicately placed her digit under Kelly's chin, tilting her head up to give her a reassuring smile. "Hey no more frowns, I actually have good news. I found a new and better place for us to stay."

"Really?" Kelly asked curiously, wiping her nose with her sleeve. "Where is this new place?"

"On an island," Arachnia smiled.

---------------
So if you all can not guess already, the island Arachnia is making mention of is the one in lake Erie, where the Dinobots reside. This is taking place at the end of season 1 of TFA I think? When Arachnia washes up on the island after her failed attempt to get the Allspark. So yes, some more plot is coming into play. I apologise if this feels rushed, but it's pretty much midnight, I have school tomorrow and an English exam so I'm trying to get this up as quick as I can. Hopefully this is enough for now and I will hopefully have the next chapter up sometime next week, but no promises. See you guys later.
