Vincent woke up to slanted rays of sunlight streaming in through the window. Yawning and stretching, he turned to cuddle Dave - only to find an empty space. Opening his eyes properly, he looked over to his side of the bed. It was empty and cold.
On his pillow was a paper note. Picking it up, Vincent read it.
Gone out for a bit, I won't be long! Keep the bed warm for me xxx
Curious but still groggy from tiredness, he flopped back down and closed his eyes, not wanting to get up. Moving seemed like too much effort - and his muscles were aching after their 'activities' yesterday anyway...
Creeping back into their room, Dave shoved something into the bottom of a drawer and gently climbed back into bed, curling his body around Vincent's and watching as he dreamed peacefully.
When Vincent finally stirred, he was met with a kiss on the cheek. Smiling, he turned his body so their chests were against each other, bringing their lips together. "I take it you're back from your little errand, then."
"Mhm..." Smiling, Dave put his hand on his cheek.
"Where did you go?"
"Never you mind, nerd." Sitting up, he went to get out of bed but was stopped.
"No," Vincent groaned, locking his arms around Dave's waist and pulling him back under the covers, "I want to cuddle."
Sighing fondly, Dave slid his arms back around Vincent and pulled him close. Their breath mingled as their lips met again.
By the time Dave managed to drag them both out of bed, it was almost midday. They got in the shower together, Dave handing Vincent the soap, but he had other ideas.
Shifting forwards, he pressed their wet bodies together and kissed the hollow in Dave's neck, making him blush. He ran his fingers across his chest, smirking as his eyes widened.
"We're meant to be getting clean and dressed," Dave protested weakly. Just then, Vincent's hands slipped down onto his arse and he lost his train of thought, gasping.
"You were saying...?" Vincent teased, smirking at his flustered expression. Dave went to talk, but he just mashed their lips together again, silencing him. Water dripped down their hair and onto their faces, making it hard to breathe.
Pulling away and pushing his hair out if his face, Dave breathed heavily. "Are you trying to drown me?"
"Maybe not with water, but sure."
Just then, the water turned freezing cold and the lights went out. Jumping out of the shower, Vincent hugged Dave tight. "What happened?" He asked nervously, teeth starting to chatter.
Picking up their towels, Dave wrapped both around Vincent, one around his waist and the other around his shoulders. "Probably a power cut," he shrugged.
Leaning on his chest, Vincent pulled a towel off of his shoulders and handed it to Dave. When he started to argue, he covered his mouth. "You need to get dried too."
Nodding reluctantly, Dave wrapped the towel around his waist and wandered into the dark bedroom. Pulling open the curtains, he winced as bright light streamed in. It was mid afternoon, the sun shining on their side of the house. Turning around, he saw Vincent holding out a pile of clothes to him and put them on.
Sitting on Dave's lap, Vincent brought their throw over and wrapped it around them, their lips meeting again. Then he frowned slightly. "Do you think we need to check what made the power go out?"
"I guess," Dave grumbled, gently lifting him off of his lap and heading downstairs. As they went into the living room to check the fuse box, they saw everyone else lounging on the sofas and beanbags, food and drink strewn around the room in various packets and bowls. "What happened?"
