Spider

Have you ever seen how a spider moves?
Erratic, jittery, subtle with fear
Settling into nooks and small, dainty grooves
I think you may be a spider, my dear

For you've woven a web and I am caught
Tangled, scrabbling for purchase against you
My brow is furrowed into a harsh knot
And I'm aching with the weight of the slew

Because I'm caught, beating wings helplessly
Staring into glassy eyes that don't care
Speckled skin forms expressions carelessly
Playing with me, tugging me through the air

I know this circumstance is my own fault
For I'm the fool that toured the spider's vault
