String of Pearls

"Have you ever heard of it being called
the String of Pearls?" you inquired to me
I shook my head, said "No," and looked
And there you were, glowing ethereally

Los Angeles lights, framing your figure
Pearl white airplanes blinking lazily behind
Dark green oceans far off, just like ligure
Twinkling velveteen skies and stars 'tertwined

With the landscape creating this picture
My heart drops, and I think to myself, "God,
I want to make him happy," I concur
And he speaks and I'm enraptured, how odd

That's the moment I fell, heart warm with care
And head full of daydreams, oh, how I dare
