Encounter

*A Character in this chapter is made up by me, and she'll be your master (this is just a heads up for those who might be confused when reading, enjoy!)

I slowly blinked once I awoke, but immediately as reality of last night hits me I rapidly sit up straight and noticed that I'm still in the hallway. And to my horror, I also see my lifeless parents in the bloody room across me. A few tears roll down my face before it led to a full on breakdown as everything hits me at once.

After me an hour or so, I finally gained control of my emotions and see the sun is rising. And for some unknown reason, I quickly shy away from it, as if on instinct. At first I was confused, but then I immediately know why when my finger starts sizzling when I put it into the light. I recoiled back, looking at my finger slowly regenerate back to normal as if it wasn't just sizzling.

So for the remainder of the day I prepare to bury the bodies of my parents and permanently leave my home behind since I now have nothing to really go back to.

Once the sun sets and night comes, I bury my parents bodies and the give a silent prayer. Even though my parents were terrible to me, I didn't believe they deserved to die the way they did.

I then leave my home and rapidly ran through the forest. To which I noticed that I'm much faster than before. This scares me at first when I burst off in a far distance within a small amount of time, but I gradually got use to it before I full on sprinted through the forest.

But, as I was sprinting to who knows where, I heard a distant scream. I flinched and swiftly turned my head towards the direction where I heard the scream. After a minute of debating, I decide to run towards the scream.

As I get closer, I heard more noises and not long after I see two figures enter my field of view. One was a female, who appear as an innocent civilian while the other had a demonic appearance, where they had a humanoid figure, but only the mouth was present on their face. Scary.

I start getting scared, but I managed to push the feelings back as I tackled the demon down to the ground before it attacked the innocent woman.

I heard the woman behind me gasp as she seemingly falls down based on the thud I heard.

"Hey! Get off you bitch! This is my kill, I found it first and I'm not sharing!" The demon bellows from under me. I grit my teeth, using most of my strength to hold him down, and which I successfully do for the time being.

Using the time I have at the moment, I quickly yell to the woman behind me. "P-Please go, run away! I can hold him down,...so don't worry about me....!"

Thankfully, the woman doesn't hesitate to flee off to safety. I breathe a breath of relief before focusing back onto the demon, who I'll have to hold off until dawn.

Suddenly, I sense a threatening presence coming from behind me, and thus I quickly dodge by the rolling to the side and off the demon I was holding down briefly before.

I see a rather old looking woman wearing a strange uniform and a red haori swiftly decapitate the demon like it was nothing. I gulped, knowing that if I dodged a second later, I would've met the same fate.

My brief relief doesn't stay long once the woman swiftly turns her head towards me. I flinched and shrink a little from the intimidating aura.

"H-Hel-"

"Your different from other demons, aren't you?"

I blinked from the blunt response, tilting my head a little.

"Ah really.....W-Wait...! I'm a demon!?!!" I cried out.

"Well yeah, and guessing by that reaction you just recently turned into a demon. Then again I shouldn't be too surprised, many humans don't believe in demons."

My mouth opens slightly as I process this information.

"Normally, you'd be dead by now, but you saved that woman back there, so I don't really find a reason to. I'm Akoto Amaya, former Blood Pillar of the Demon Corps." She suddenly introduces.

"U-Uhm....hi....I'm (y/n) (l/n)...nice to meet you..." I sheepishly said.

"Nice to meet you too. Now, follow me. Since your demon I don't see a need to run slow. Make sure to keep up." She said before running off. I yelped and quickly followed after her.

We finally stopped in front a huge mansion. Unlike the woman beside me, I was sweating and breathless, despite being a demon. I warily glanced at her.

"It's almost dawn, let's head inside and I'll discuss some matters with you." She said and guided me inside and went inside a room and closed the windows, then going to sit down on her knees. She gently settled down her sheathed katana beside her and the looked at me.

I stood there for awhile before realizing she wanted me to sit down. "Ah..I'm sorry." I sat down across from her, tilting my head downwards slightly.

"It's fine. But let's get onto business shall we? First things first, do you want to join the Demon Slayer Corps?"

Huh?
