5. Awkward Silence

Katherine's POV

Diana walks into the living room later with her phone in hand. I question her, "¿Que?" (What) in Spanish.

"Oh, I just ordered pizza and told the police you were back. They still wanna talk to you..." Diana told me. I inhale deeply as Caleb leans down. I feel his breath brush against my ear. Causing chills to go down my spine.

"Vampires don't necessarily eat a lot of human food," He whispers to me, "I'm gonna go." He places a soft kiss against my cheek. Catching everyone's attention. He pulls back slowly, then smiles. He stands normally. Waving at them, "Bye."

"Later, Caleb," Diana said. Aaliyah and Robby completely and utterly quiet. I feel uncomfortable immediately due to the awkward silence I'm witnessing.

"I'm gonna go lay down. Um, Let me know when the pizza is here," I say to them. They nod as I head back to my room. I put my crutches next to my bed, take off my boot I'm wearing for my ankle. Crawl under my comforters and fell myself get super sleepy.
