One Year Later...

Rey's Point Of View:

I sat at my desk doing my homework, I heard footsteps behind me, but I didn't pay much attention. I shared a room with Rose and Paige and I assumed that one of them must have came to get something, or to finish their homework.

"This came for you today," I looked at Paige as she placed a package on my desk.

My face lights up, it has to be from Ben, he's the only one who ever sends me anything. But he usually only sent an envelope so I was curious about what's in the package. I couldn't wait any longer, I sat my homework aside and began opening the box. The first thing I saw was an envelope. I took it out and opened it, then I began reading the letter inside silently:

~💌~

Dear Rey,

I have finally finished the second book of the Star Light Chronicles: Rewrite The Stars.

I wrote it just for you and I hope that you like it. You were the one who inspired me to keep writing this series, so know that I wrote it for you. Even if no one else likes it or even reads it, if you like it that's all that matters.

Because of you I've written this book from my heart and I think that it's better than the first one.

Thank you so much for your friendship, you are the only friend I've ever had.

Your friend, Ben

P.S. my book won't reach stores until next week, but I wanted you to be the first to read it.

~💌~

I couldn't help but get excited as I read the letter, the second book had finally come! I set the letter aside and opened the package. Inside was a copy of the new book. It had a beautiful cover with Anakin and Padme together, just as I knew they would be. Obi Wan Kenobi was in the upper corner, holding a blue lightsaber.

I know that I can't have any dinner until I've finished my homework, but I couldn't wait another moment. I opened the book and was surprised by what I saw on the dedication page:

For my number one fan Rey

I couldn't help but gasp in surprise. He dedicated the book to me? Never in my wildest dreams had I ever imagined that someone would dedicate a book to me, especially not my favorite book, written by someone I'd never even met... at least not in person.

"What is it?" Paige asked me.

I opened my mouth, but nothing would come out. So, I just pointed to the dedication page.

She looked at it for a moment, then gasped in amazement. "He dedicated the book to you?" she asked, both surprised and amazed.

I stood up, excitedly. "I have to go show this to Poe, Finn and Rose."

"I'm coming too," Paige said, following me.

I ran out of our room into the living room, where Finn, Poe and Rose were all playing Middle Earth: Shadows Of War.

"Guess what I got in the mail today?" I asked.

Finn glanced at me, before looking back at the tv screen. "What?" he not really sounding interested.

"The Starlight Chronicles Book two," I answered.

Finn looked up at me suddenly from where he sat cross legged.

I held up the book for him to see.

He gasped excitedly, I'm so glad that he has become such a big fan of the series, as have Poe, Paige and Rose. Finn tossesdhis video controller to the side and came over to get a closer look. Poe and Rose followed him.

"It looks like you were right about Anakin and Padme," said Finn gesturing to the picture on the cover.

I nodded excitedly.

"I have to read it," Finn said, trying to take the book from me.

I held the book up over my head. "You can read it after I've finished it," I told him.

Finn crossed his arms across his chest. "That's not fair, you read the other book first."

"What happened to me reading the books first to make sure that they are good enough?" I asked.

"I already know that it's going to be good," he said trying to take the book away from me again.

"The writer wants me to read it first," I told him.

"She's right Finn," said Rose. "She should read it first. She's the reason that he kept writing the books, and he sent it to her not us."

"Okay," Finn agreed a little sadly.

"Don't worry Finn, it won't take me long to read it," I said.

"Okay, but no spoilers."

"I promise."

"Show them the dedication," said Paige.

I opened the book a little timidly. I didn't want to make them feel bad.

Poe, Finn and Rose all leaned in closer and read the few words on the page.

"He dedicated it to you?" Finn asked surprised.

I nodded and found that I was blushing slightly, but I didn't know why.

Rose smiled. "Well, if you didn't write the letter to him, he wouldn't have written the next book."

"And that would have been bad," said Finn. "Maybe I could just check it out from the library."

"It's actually not going to be in stores until next week," I said.

Finn gasped. "So you're going to be the first to read it?"

I nodded.

"Hurry up and read it before next week, I want to be the second person to read it."

"Don't worry Finn, it won't take me but a day or two, the first book was so good I couldn't put it down."

"Rey whenever Finn finishes reading it, can I borrow the book?" Rose asked. "I want to be the third person to read it."

"No... we can read it together," said Finn.

Rose smiled shyly. "That would be wonderful."
