She had felt as if she was frozen as Lucas was looked at her expectantly. Farkle wanted to be happy for his two friends but for some unexplainable reason, he wanted her to say 'no', he hated himself for his, but he couldn't change how he felt or were the mystery feelings were coming from. "Well?" Lucas asked her nervously, he could feel his hands shaking unsure of which way she was going to lean toward.

She was nodding before she actually started to talk, she'd been waiting for this moment for months and it was finally happening, "yes."

Lucas' face lit up like the sun was right in front of him, he couldn't help but rush toward her and just hug her. The moment that they had been both been working toward was finally here and they just couldn't help but rejoice in it. While they had been silently cheering, Farkle had been stewing in unhappiness. "This is uh, great guys." Farkle said breaking the two of them apart, trying to appear happy for them, "I have to go...home." He told them before waving and rushing off down the hall and out of the hallway.

He didn't know when the feelings he had came but he knew that he couldn't remember a time when he didn't feel them, and he did not want them to go away. For the first time, he felt like he could have something, that he could be with someone who was genuine; that maybe he could have a love like his parents had, or Riley's parents had, but he didn't want to pay the price and end his closest friendships. So, he settled at being her friend, being there for her when no one else was because she did the same for him and for a while that was enough, more than enough but today, seemed to be the day where he saw what he could have had and it hurt.

"Farkle," his little sisters yelled in sync from the back seat of his mom's car, almost reaching out to them.

"Hey, Lilith. Hey, Francine. Hey, Emogene." He said to each of them individually in the order of their birth, because he thought that if they were all greeted separately, then they would never have to be in one another scenario shadow and got to be their own person.  "Hey, mom." He said solemnly, looking straight ahead, not up for the daily conversation about the planets today.

"What's wrong, sweetie?" his mother asked as the drove toward his home.

He shrugged, his heart hearting more and more with each mile they took, "Lucas asked Cori out today and she said 'yes'."

"Oh, sweetie." His mother told him, unable to come up with the right words to help him this time, so she settled for a quiet ride home. He'd gotten home, ran up to his room and didn't come out for the rest of the night.

"I need ideas Farkle," Lucas said to Farkle when he saw him the next morning, he raised his eyebrow confused. "For my date with Cori."

"You asked her on a date, and you don't even have one planned?" he asked trying to keep the anger out of his voice, how do you not plan ahead when you want to land a date with your dream girl.

He looked at Farkle sheepish, "I didn't think I'd get that far ahead."

Farkle shook his head at him but he wanted Cori happy so he put his feelings aside for her, "there is this Harry Potter themed orchestra coming this weekend, take her, she will love it." he said, before internally beating himself up for what he was about to do, "they are probably sold out by now, but I have to front row tickets that I'm not using anymore, here you go." He'd been planning on taking Cori there, but that idea doesn't seem like a good one now and she deserved it.
