The Show Must Go On

[The team, Loki, teachers, and other students in the play are backstage waiting to go on]

Loki: My gosh! This outfit is so itchy!

Thor: Agreed, brother!

Tony: Honestly, I'm kind of used to these outfits.

Clint: I'm not! I'm going to die of heat suffocation.

Bruce: Technically, that can't happen.

Clint: Technically, I don't care.

Steve: (Looks at Nat) How's your costume feeling, Natasha?

Natasha: It feels like I took a trip to hell and the devil is laughing at me.

Steve: ... Dang.

(Cameron walks up to them and taps Nat softly)

Natasha: (Turns around and sees her, then turn back around) ... Guys?

(All of them turn and see Cameron. They glare at her.)

Tony: Ahem. Did we invite you over here?

Cameron: ... No. But, I figured I'd give you all a quick visit. You know, a small "hello" before the play starts.

Steve: (Folds arms) Yeah. We get it.

Thor: Please depart from our presence, Cameron. We are not fond of you at all.

Cameron: Yes, Donald. I know... But I've come to apologize. I have to admit that my behavior was not the best.

Bruce: You're darn right it wasn't.

Loki: How dare you lie on Natasha in such a way?

Cameron: I was...jealous. Okay? I wanted Clint in my life.

Clint: Cameron, I get that, but honestly, I'll never love someone as much as I love Natasha. We've always been there for each other.

Cameron: (Nods) Understood. (Turns to Natasha) I'm deeply sorry, Nat. I feel really bad for all of that stuff I did... Do you accept my apology?

(Natasha stays silent)

Cameron: ... Natasha?

(Natasha is still quiet)

Bruce: (Nudges her) Natasha?

Natasha: Yes, Banner?

Bruce: Are you going to say anything to her?

Natasha: I've come to learn a lesson. A very important life lesson.

Tony: Which is?

Natasha: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Bruce: Sooo I'm guessing you don't accept her apology?

Natasha: (Shakes head) Not even if it could save my life. Which she tried to take away...

Cameron: (Sighs) Fine. I tried. Good luck in the play you guys. (Walks away with a smirk, mumbling) Break a leg, Natasha.

Natasha: Gosh, she gets on my nerves.

Thor: She thinks she is all big and bad, but she ain't.

Loki: Ain't? Thor, spend more time in Asgard please.

(Teacher comes backstage)

Teacher: Benvolio and Tybalt, you're on in two. (Leaves)

Bruce: Crap. That's me and you, Loki. You ready?

Loki: Ready as I'll ever be.

Steve: You guys will do great.

Bruce: Thanks, Rogers.
