DESCRIPTION

Life after of Hogwarts was not what they thought it was going to be for Ron Weasley and Aspen Hyde.

Ron thought he would become an auror, marry Hermione, have kids and live the good life. But none of those ended up working out. He and Hermione didn't work out as a couple, he left the aurors to work with his brother, George, after two years and now he's living alone.

When Ron is introduced to Aspen Hyde through Hermione, he is intrigued by her. She seems different, somehow. Kind and compassionate, but he can see the horrors in her past.

Aspen thought that life after school was going to be the same forever. Live with her best friend and her cat and work. She never expected to meet and become friends with Hermione Granger of all people, and she certainly never expected to be introduced to and hit it off with Ron Weasley.

When Aspen is introduced to Ron through Hermione, she is fascinated by him. He thought he had life figured out and then nothing ended up like he thought it would, including leaving the horrors of the past in the past.

But maybe, just maybe, they can figure out this whole life thing together.

› this takes place a few years after the Battle of Hogwarts and everyone graduating and all that jazz

› Ron and Hermione were together, but they found out that they just didn't work out together romantically. They are still friends, though. They're just not in a relationship.

› this story is pure fluff.... like it's just cotton candy on a stick because it's fluff and sweet and cute and everything nice

› also do not make Hermione a bitch in this. She and Ron are friends, she's friends with Aspen and when they start seeing each other, she's happy for them.

› Aspen Hyde is baby

› she is a precious cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure

› she is kind, caring, sweet, compassionate, loyal. She does have trouble focusing on things and is terrible with deadlines. Often, she would procrastinate until almost the last minute and have a breakdown because it's not done and it needs to be done and I can't focus and do this oh my god oh my god oh my god

› while at Hogwarts, she was in Gryffindor! She comes across as a total Hufflepuff, which she almost was, the Sorting Hat seriously considered it.

› she's a Gryffindor because she values bravery above almost all else. Her grandparents were both aurors, in the Order of the Phoenix and died during the first war with Voldemort. Her dad also died during that war. Her mom told her stories of how brave they were while she was growing up and she latched onto that.

› she is a year younger than the Trio, and thus was born the year the war ended. I imagine her having an August birthday, so she would have been born after Voldemort disappears and her father and grandparents have all died. When in August is up to you.

› I imagine that Ron and Aspen meet through Hermione, like she's friends with Hermione first and gets invited to something and meets Ron or otherwise meets him through Hermione.

› again, I will reiterate, Hermione is happy for them, possibly even rooting for them to get together before it happens

› after they have met initially and then meet again and however this stuff happens in romance movies, they go out on a dinner date and talk about the good ol' days at Hogwarts and also just the good days as the years went on

› they talk about everything that happened, Aspen jokes that Harry has to be cursed because something horrible happened at the school every year for the seven years he attended even though he wasn't there for the last one. They do talk about Lavender, but not in a mean or bad way. More like, Aspen brings it up and Ron's like "oh my god you noticed that?" or whatever

› it's a cute first date and he totally walks her home and she definitely kisses him goodnight before going inside and leaning against the door, a big dopey grin on her face while he stands outside the door, smiling and happy and just unable to move for a while because he hasn't fully processed that that just happened

› Aspen also didn't have a good time while Death Eater's occupied Hogwarts. She was certainly a target for the Carrow's and has PTSD from it. She should have certain triggers that cause her to have a breakdown but I will leave the details up to you so you can decide what exactly happened to her that was so bad at Hogwarts and what her triggers are from that. I have ideas if you need help

› Aspen lives with her cat Nutmeg (because Aspen brought him home and that first day he got into the cupboard and the nutmeg and spilled it everywhere, including himself) and her best friend, Lauren Palmer. Lauren and Aspen have been friends since they both started at Hogwarts and met on the train. Lauren was also in Gryffindor but was almost in Ravenclaw. She's very studious and smart and basically the only way that Aspen got through school.

› her mother is still alive. She works at one of the small shops in Diagon Alley and lives in the home Aspen grew up in. They're very close and they get together and talk often.

› I don't know what Aspen's job is. I imagine Lauren works in the Ministry, probably in the Minister's office. But I don't know what Aspen does. Not anything too serious or too... heavy? If that's the word. She does something easy and fun and nice. Maybe something in Diagon Alley like her mother. I think you can find a list of wizarding jobs either on Pottermore or the wikia if you want to take a look at that.

› basically, this story is just two people still trying to get over the War and what they lost, things not working out the way they imagined they would and finally finding solace in another person
