My eyes were glued on the windowpane beside me like my life depended on it. Hindi ako makalingon sa aking katabi na maya't-maya ay sumusulyap sa kinauupuan ko. I just can't, after what happened earlier on the dining table.
It's now raining cats and dogs outside. Good thing we're already inside the car before it started to downpour. He was all silent and it's driving me insane. We can only hear the trickling water and the glass wipers sliding up and down the windshield.
My mind went back to that feverish moment. We were pre-occupied making out when my stomach rumbled, he then looked at me with playful eyes and my cheeks heated instantly. He even thought that was funny.
That was damn embarrassing!
"You're tummy says it's hungry." He teased.
He slowly let go off me and he went on preparing our lunch and I was just there pinned on my seat like shit 'til he was done cooking. We ate with nothing but awkwardness teasing me to death. Badtrip talaga.
We then promptly left the tree house earlier than I expected. Wala pang alas dos nang magbadyang bumuhos ang ulan kaya nagdesisyon na kaming umalis para hindi kami nito abutan pa sa gitna ng kagubatan. Now we're here in the middle of the quiet road, also muted.
"We're here." Umilaw ang sasakyan at lumiko papasok sa kakabukas na gate. Nakauei kami sa mansyon, at nagpahinga na hanggang unti-unti na ring yumakap ang dilim.
On our third day in Pagudpud, we spent it swimming on the beach and shoved off at 3:00 PM to pack our things so we could return home before it's late in the evening. Nang magpaalam kami kay Senyora Geronima ay bakas ang lungkot sa mukha ng matanda sa aming pag-uwi. Nagpaalam din kami kay tita Glenda na naabutan naming maganda ang mood habang may katawagan sa kanyang cellphone. Inihatid kami ng mama ni Gleizen palabas ng mansyon, umuna nang tumulak kahapon sa Tuguegarao City ang kanyang papa dahil kailangan daw ito sa kanilang kompanya.
"Nawa'y makadalaw uli kayo rito mga anak!" si Nay Myrna na sumunod, may malungkot na ngiti sa kanyang labi.
"Balik kayo ha? Hijo, hija, aasahan kong makakabisita kayo rito ng madalas. Mag-iingat din kayo sa biyahe."
She's like our manang Karing. I easily get attached to people like her. Kaya sa ilang araw lang na nalagi kami rito ay napalapit na rin ang loob ko sa kaniya.
Niyakap namin sila at tumulak na paalis.
My mom's forehead creased for a moment when she saw us. Gleizen was carrying my bag and some pasalubong.
"Good evening ma'am." he greeted.
Ngumiti si mommy at inaya kami papasok sa loob.
"Nag-dinner na ba kayo?"
"Yes, mom. Nag-stop over kami sa isang restaurant."
"Would you wan't to have coffee or anything?" tumingin siya kay Gleizen.
"No, thank you. I have to go ma'am."
"Oh, okay."
He nodded. He looked at me and gave me a kiss on top of my head before we proceeded.
"I thought he's not your boyfriend?" Nilingon ko si mommy.
"I never said that mom

"No, I asked you about him when you went to Sta."
Oh.
"Really? I'm-" mommy arched a brow anticipating me to say something.
"I didn't know. Akala ko si Johannes ang tinutukoy niyo noon."
