VX-1369 knew nothing but the Finalizer. She knew that before, when she was young, she came from somewhere, from a family. Now, she was VX-1369, a Stormtrooper, doing as told.
She wished she could say she was like Eight-Seven, but she wasn't. She did what she was told, even if she didn't agree with it. There was no choice, not for her, not for anyone.
Then Poe Dameron, a fighter pilot from the Resistance, shows up, inside the room she was guarding, and VX-1369 saw a chance. A chance to step back from the horrors she'd committed, to become something new.
With the help of Eight-Seven, they narrowly managed to escape, the three of them crash-landing onto Jakuu. Not knowing what happened to Eight-Seven, she continued forward, now with Poe Dameron, a man with determination to rival her own.
VX-1369 wasn't a hero, she wasn't even a person. She moved like a machine, like a program.
And maybe that was what the war needed. A hardened soldier with twisted morals, ready to be deployed.

EXTRA.
→ poe calls her vex, finn (eventually) calls her vex, and rey calls her vex. for a majority of force awakens, she identifies with the number name she was given, due to that being the only thing she's ever known and the fact that, to her, it was something to latch onto. but at some point towards the end of the force awakens, she would start to use vex after finn starts to call her it. (at first, she insists that finn calls her vx-1369.)
→ this is a slow burn! vex doesn't immediately like poe, in fact, she finds him annoying. over time, she likes him, they become friends, and whenever they start to date or something of the sort is up to you. though, i highly suggest anything romantic happen after the force awakens, because vex is getting adjusted to a new life and figuring out where she stands and who she is, not poe.
→ vex is very authoritative and rather violent with a grey area of morals.
→ vex has ptsd! don't ignore that. and, it goes without saying she would despise kylo. she doesn't like him and he triggers her ptsd, and to put it quite frankly, vex would try to kill him. don't make them friends, or her to be friends with anyone like kylo ren.
