BOWIE had been with the Saviors for years. She owed them her life, owed them everything. Bowie was a Savior. Bowie was Negan.
Ever since the day her mother had failed to pick her up from her friend's house the day everything hit, Bowie had been on her own. At least, what she counted as her own. Then she met the Saviors, a small group at the time, who decided to take in the weak child she had once been.
Since that day, Bowie had been the Sanctuary's one. At first, the child that everyone loved, who everyone felt sorry for. Then the girl that was brought out to instill fear into those, to make them think that Negan would do to her what others had done—to be the boogeyman's vicious little attack dog. Bowie stood by Negan's side, holding Lucille for the ready, pushing people into line.
When Negan told her to pack up, that they were going to hunt down the people who slaughtered their outpost, Bowie followed behind. Everything went like the typical clockwork until the group was on their knees and Bowie did the job she always had. Deliver the bat to Negan as he paraded around like the big bad wolf himself, and display herself as the "mutilated child soldier" for their horror.
That all came crashing down when she saw the target of Negan's aggression. He was older, grayer, less confident than the last time she saw. But no doubt him.
Her father, who should have died in a coma, was sitting there, seeing her as nothing but another enemy.

→ bowie was found by the saviors when she was thirteen. three months before then, she had suffered a burn to the face after getting caught in a house fire caused by a candle she lit at night. that's the reason negan likes her to cart lucille around at executions, to make people think that he did it, to instill fear into people on the accusation that he'd do that to a child since he did it to others.
→ bowie knows what negan is doing isn't right. she's terrified of him, though she does her best to hide it. but she has no choice, there isn't an escape for her, and she knows if there was, they'd easily find her. her morals are grey and twisted, but she doesn't agree with negan's senseless killing, or the fact that he uses his power over the women of the sanctuary.
→ her dad is rick, and her mom is lori. lori didn't pick her up the day everything hit do to roadblocks, and by the time lori arrived, bowie had already fled the house. bowie thinks her mom never came for her since she waited an entire day. carl is her twin brother, and the two were extremely close. but do to the burn that covers 3/4 of her face (and the three years of aging), neither her father or carl recognizes her. though, bowie does try her best to make sure they don't for both of their sakes.
→ bowie is named after a bowie knife, which is the nickname negan and the saviors created for her since that was her only weapon when they found her. her birth name is charlotte, though she no longer goes by that.
→ when they find out (if they do), is up to you. though, i would suggest not for some time, since it would build up the tension, suspense, and plot of the book if you did so.
