Maddie's POV:
I feel a small part of me cave in when I start to see all the hate comments. Is this what it's going to be like knowing Josh? I really want to be his friend, he is so sweet, but this hate is too much... even for me...
"Mads! Mads! Earth to Mads!!" My best friend Hali'a pulls me out of my thoughts. I look over.
"Yes Hali'a?" I think I know what this is gonna be about but whatever...
"Who is Josh Richards!?" I roll my eyes. She says this with such excitement. I knew it.
"This boy who wrong number texted me and apparently knows Noen..." I try to act like it's no big deal but on the inside I'm lowkey screaming.
"He's kinda cute though..." I give her a disgusted look and throw a pillow at her but I laugh.
"Ew Halia! We've never even met! I've never even FaceTimed him! It's all texting!" I couldn't agree with her more though. Josh is adorable and really sweet but like I said we've never even talked! She gives me a weird look.
"Ok but I saw how he commented cutie on your post!" I feel the heat rush to my cheeks and I laugh.
"Ugh Halia your so weird! Plus I just broke up with..." I snap out of whatever decent mood I was in. Daniel. Of course. I clear my throat and stare straight ahead.
"Aw babe forget about him. 2020 is a brand new year," I feel a tear slip and she wraps her arms around me. "Don't worry. Everything will work out and if it doesn't I will be right here next to you the whole time. I gotchu bae!" I laugh for some reason. Im honestly so glad to be able to have a girls night with Halia. We haven't had a sleepover for like 3 weeks and this is really helping me take my mind off of things.
"I love you Halia. Thank you for everything. So... Disney+ time?" I wipe my tears and smile at her hoping she'll agree and we can get passed this for now.
"Yes of course! But only if I get to pick!" She takes the remote out of my hands and turns the TV on. I laugh and watch as she looks at all the options.
