The day has come. Today is the day we do the dreaded fitness test. Chester was looking way better than he is last year. Rohan, like always, looks confident. I, on the other hand, is nervous as heck. 1 month and a week are in no way enough for me to learn archery and master it. I did manage to perfect my posture and all. I also can shoot arrows accurately with controlled force. But there is no way I can do all that while running around to avoid being hit while also keeping distances. I am not prepared for battle at all.

Also, remember when Mr. Berry said our weapon will break if we are good enough. Rohan and Chester's have broken up. Mine is still perfectly intact which shows that I am clearly not prepared for this fitness test. I just need to rely on my speed today, I guess.

"Next, group. Volunteer. Or I'll pick one of you myself." Mr. Berry said, clearly sounding bored. He still having fun seeing children being scared and failed the test, though. I can see it through his smirk that is playing by the side of his mouth. After what happened things have been awkward between us but oh well who cares. It is not like we are close before.

Rohan raised his hand to volunteer as the next group. What the heck, this guy just makes a decision by himself. Ugh, I cannot chicken myself out right now. I just need to follow what they do. No need to panic or be scared.

Mr. Berry just nodded at us. Our classmate makes an 'ooo' sound as our group walks slowly towards the portal. Our group is the first one to volunteer going in ourselves. Normally, the teachers just pick them one by one themselves because no one wanted to go on their own.

I closed my eyes while I walk in and when I open it, we are in a vast field. Very bright and vibrant, unlike the dark dungeon we have last year. What we could possibly fight this year.

"Bow or daggers?" Rohan asked me.

"Bow, I guess," I said, there is doubt in my voice but Rohan do not mention it and help me get my things ready. Today, he will be using the staff. We are all equipped with weapons this year.

When we think we are ready, we started venturing forward. But there is nothing to explore really. It is just a wide plain grass field. It is suspicious because it is way too quiet in this wide-open place. No wind and such. Ugh, thank God there is no winds. Things will be easier now, I hope.

"Uhm, guys." I heard Chester calling out to us. We turn to look at him who looks pale as heck. "I think I found the monster we need to defeat." He said.

        "Where?" I asked.

He turned to look under his feet. One of his feet stepped on a green slime. It looks harmless, enough. It shows no sign of fight or flight response. But, wait, slimes are supposed to have a very big and tight group. How come we only see one right now.

"Back up!" Rohan quickly acts as he too realises what is going on. The first slime was set as a trap. It will somehow alarm the whole group if any of us encountered it. Thank God we did not split up. The slime sure miscalculated our strategy here.

We quickly back up and stand closer to each other, back to back. All of us ready ourselves with what is oncoming. We can hear a lot of slimy noise from all around us. "Rohan, make sure there is nothing behind us. I will be helping you, I don't think I'm fast enough to fight a group of slimes. Yohanan, control your side." Chester quickly thinks of a strategy.

Rohan and I just managed to nod at his orders. I look at my side. There sure is a bunch of slimes coming to us. These slimes sure try to gain an advantage by surrounding us. They have strength in number too. I shoot one arrow at one of them to test out how strong their endurance is. It seems like not high, one arrow is enough.
