Missing

Revelations

Marinette's POV

    "Ready to talk?" Hawkmoth was standing in front of me. I was breathing hard. He's been trying to get me to talk for nearly thirty minutes.

"Never!" I said, my baby hairs were dangling on my face.

"Very well," he said and charged at me. His fist hit me on my right cheek and then I felt his foot on my stomach. I gasped for air. I can barely keep my eyes open. I started to cough and felt something coming up. I spit it out and tasted the iron in my mouth. "Hm. Maybe I should look for a doctor to come and check on you. Or I could let you die..." he said in a very cold voice.

"She'll be useless dead," I heard Mayura's voice. She was standing by the table where Tikki was. "I'll see what we can give her," she said and stood in the center of the room and she was lowered. My vision became blurry.

Blink.

I tried to keep them open but failed.

"How long will she be out?" I kept my eyes closed.

"I don't know. You hurt her pretty badly, Gabriel," What? As in Gabriel Agreste?! I stood still with my eyes closed. "Why don't you just take her earrings. She's defenseless,"

"But her kwami will disappear and I need her to tell me where the miraculous box is,"

"Her parents reported her missing. The police are looking for her. Even her friends,"

"Adrien?" there was silence. "We need to keep him occupied. We can't let him out,"

"But he'll wonder where you are," there was a pause. "You can't lie to him all the time. You'll eventually have to tell him,"

"I know," Tell him what? OMG, this is too much! I just figured out who Hawkmoth is! Worst of all, it's Adrien's father! I can't imagine how heartbroken he'll be when I tell him this. "Feed her," I heard him say. I heard machinery working and then a loud clank. I heard machinery working again and then again a loud clank. I opened my eyes and it was dark but there was a little light coming from somewhere.

"Gabriel Agreste is Hawkmoth!" I said out loud. I tried sitting up but a jolt of pain shot from my ribs. I fell back down and hugged myself. My breathing quicken and it was also a bit hard to breathe. I felt the pulse on my right eye. I'm in no good condition. If I move a lot I might hurt one of my inside organs and I don't want that. I laid down on the cold ground. I looked up at the ceiling. It was dark and I couldn't see where it ended. I heard machinery working again and the window open. I saw Mayura's outline and she was carrying a tray.

"Do you feel any pain?" she asked me. She placed the tray down next to me. I keep looking at the ceiling, debating whether to answer her or not. "I just want to help you. I don't want you dead. Honestly," I almost revealed to her my knowledge about her and Gabriel but decided not to. Can't blow it up or else they'll for reals kill me. I took a deep breath and felt pain in my left side of my chest.

"I tried getting up and I felt pain in my ribs," and placed my right hand over my ribs on my left. I closed my eyes and waited.

"Hawkmoth really crossed the line this time," she said. I opened my eyes and looked at her. I saw sadness and... regret? "I can get a doctor down here. Taking you out is not an option. Can't run the risk of you running away," she said.

"Kind heart but you're still the same bitch," I said. I looked at her hard. "Why can't you see... that he's only using you? Once the job is done..., he'll dispose of you! Just like all of his victims...!" she stood up and walked away from me but I wasn't finished. "Help me...! Please ...!" silence but I refused to stop. "Don't you have a family? Kids? A spouse? What would they think of you if they knew who you were working for?" I ran out of breath fast.

"He's my family. His kid is my family. I promised myself that I would stand by his side no matter what. I would follow him. And he won't dispose of me. I know it! He's not that kind of man," she replied, still her back facing me. "And you should probably not talk too much. Don't waste your breath," she told me but I'm too stubborn.

"The kind of man to akumatize innocent people just to get my miraculous and Cat Noir's? And for what? Power?"

"You don't understand. Do you even know what the unification of these two miraculouses does?!"

"Yes, I do! But clearly he doesn't or else he would've stopped all of this nonsense!" she was about to ask me something but then we heard machinery. He's coming. I then saw the top of his head and slowly he came up.

"Does she have anything serious?" he asked Mayura.

"She said she felt pain when sitting up. I believe she might have a broken rib or two," she told him. I looked back and forth between them. He then looked at me and then turned away.

"Get her a doctor. We'll bring her up when no one is around." You mean when Adrien and his bodyguard are not around. "Schedule her appointment for tomorrow. The sooner she gets better the sooner she can tell us where the miracle box is," Mayura stood in the center and was lowered. Now it was just Hawkmoth and me in the room. He walked up to me and said, "If you try to ask for help, or try to run away, I won't hesitate to take your earrings and kill you. I'll do whatever is necessary to get them," I glared at him. I wanted to bring Adrien up so badly. Oh and don't even get me started on his wife! God knows what happened to her but clearly she wouldn't be happy about this. So I instead did what I did with Mayura.

"Don't you have a family?... A wife?... Kids?... What would they think of you if they knew about this? Don't you already have everything?" he got up and walked towards the big window, his back facing me. 

"Yes, I have a family," there was deadly silence. "But it's incomplete!" and he stomped his foot like a little child when he's mad. "I'm doing all of this for them! So we can be happy and together like we were!" he made his hand into a fist. "I've been studying these precious jewels ever since I found them. Hoping to find a way to bring her back to me," I hear a sob and then more sobbing. I  processed what he just told me. She. Everything he just told me is surrounded by "we" and "she." The only "she" that "disappeared from the Agreste family is Adrien's mother. More processing. Holy shit! He's trying to use my miraculous and the cat's miraculous to unify them and use the wish it rants to bring his wife back! I felt my head spin. Then the ceiling. I reached to touch my head and I closed my eyes. This is a lot. I don't know how to feel about this now. Is it wrong to want to have the love of your life with you and your son? Will the consequences of this wish be worth it? I then gasped.
