Two Days Later

Marinette's POV

Today is Lila's funeral and I talked to my parents to at least go and pay my respects. They were so confused about why I would want to go considering that she nearly killed me. Well... I do hate her but I don't want to be disrespectful. Then they went on, on how good they raised me and that I have such a good heart.

For today, I decided to go with a simple long sleeve black dress with black flats. It reaches just above my knees. I curled my hair but I think I made it look wavy. It looks good, to be honest. I borrow a black shoulder bag from my mom and place my phone, house keys, and let Tikki in. You know... just in case.

My phone vibrates and Luka's name pops on my screen.

"I'm downstairs. Did Adrien tell you anything?"

"Okay and yeah actually. He said he was going to take us."

"Hm. Okay. I still think it was a bad idea to tell him about you,"

"I know but I needed to tell him everything that happened. I felt so bad."

"I know babe. I'm glad you're honest."

"Thanks :) I'll be down in a minute."

"Okay." I put my phone back inside the bag and take one last look in the mirror. Satisfied with my look, I take one last look around and head downstairs.

"Bye, Mom and Dad," I wave at my parents.

"Bye, honey and stay safe," they say in unison. I open the door and step out. As I make my way down, I hear it close behind me.

"Hey," I say to Luka once I'm outside. He was leaning on the wall and staring down at his phone. He looks up and his jaw drops. I smile shyly and ask, "What?"

"No... n-nothing. It's just... you are so stunning," he says as he walks closer to me. He takes my hand and spins me around. "Gorgeous," he says. I smile down at the floor and look up at him. He brings me closer to him and wraps his arms around me and I wrap mine around his neck. "I love you so so much,"

"I love you so so so much, too," and plant a quick kiss on his lips. He smiles and rests his forehead on mine.

After 10-20 minutes later, Adrien's car pulls up and Luka and I get in. The whole ride is quiet but a comfortable one. Adrien was sitting in the passenger seat when we got in. I sat behind him and Luka, obviously, behind the driver.

We arrive on time to the cemetery and we make our way quietly to where Lila's coffin is. Some of our classmates are here but not all. Some teachers are here too. I do notice that the only person crying is, who I assume is, Lila's mother. Everyone else just seems to be paying their respects like we are. There's a ring of flowers with Lila's photo in the center of it.

After the priest talks and does his thing (just know that I do not know what priests say in a funeral or how everything goes so Imma just skip all that), Lila's mom throws a white rose into the grave. The people that work at the cemetery start to fill the grave and everyone just stands there and watches.

Once the hole was filled up, everyone walked up to the mom and hugged her and spoke to her. Once everyone was gone, Adrien, Luka, and I are the last ones. I bite my bottom lip and walk up to Lila's mom. She's looking down at Lila's grave, her back towards me. "Ma'am?" I say as I place one of my hands on her shoulder. She jumps a little and turns around. Her eyes go wide and for a moment I'm scared. She then surprises me by hugging me. I return the hug and sadness overtakes me. What did this woman do to deserve such a cruel daughter?
