Chapter 50: Aftermath.

The door handle clicked. I didn't bothered to gaze nor take a quick glance. I remain my vision at the skycrapers. The beautiful City of Manila is very captivating. Masyadong mapusok ang sikat ng araw. The blue sky is really breathtaking. Years went passed but still, the serene beauty of it remained.

"Madamé Montebello," a soft woman's voice lingered on my ears.

Dahan - dahan akong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ng boses. A woman, probably, a half decade younger on me, was smiling at me.

Kumunot ang noo ko dahil sa presensya niya.

"Hi, madamé. I am Samantha Moonre. I'm the lifestyle reporter sent by your father." Pakilala nito.

The lady reporter, Samantha, is quite beautiful on her age. She had a wavy black hair and a pair of brown eyes. She had petite body, and a fair skin. Mas nagmumukha siyang modelo kaysa pagiging reporter.

Ngumiti ako sa kanya. Iminuwestra ko ang upuan sa harap ng aking table. "Please have a sit, Miss Moonre."

The beautiful lady sitted. Umupo na rin ako sa aking swivel chair. Nakaharap ako sa kanya. Compared to our attires, I looked more formal.

Wearing a halter top dress paired with a slacks and a high heels, I crossed my legs as I watch Samantha, preparing her things for her interview with me.

I wasn't informed about this. But I remembered my father mentioned about this matter. Sampung taon na rin pala ang nakalipas. Now, I am already 28 years old. Still a bachelorette. It makes everyone, the media and the people who knows me, intrigue about it.

"Good Afternoon, Madamé Montebello. How's the company po?" Panimula ng babaeng reporter.

I smiled. "The company is good. I see no problem about the profit and the economic issues."

Isinulat ng babaeng reporter ang sinabi ko sa kanyang journal. "By the way, congrats po pala. I heard MonteJewel was now the leading Jewellery company in the country!"

Tumango lamang ako sa kanya at ngumiti. Well, dumaan nga ang mga taon. Everything has change. My life, my principles, my perspectives... name it!

Remembering those years, is kinda sad. Malungkot kasi, lahat ng taon ko, mag-isa kong hinarap lahat ng mga bagay para lamang maabot ko ang posisyon ko ngayon.

All those teary nights before our exams, those happiness when I graduated, and those endless thanksgiving party for my success. Thanks to my parents and friends, I was able to survive.

Totoo ngang napakabilis ng panahon.

"Madamé, kamusta na po pala ang mga kaibigan mo? Si Ashley Montebello, si Nicolette Ferrer at Leigh Gizon, balita ko kasal na po raw silang tatlo," si Samantha.

Saglit akong nag-iwas ng tingin sa kanya. Bigla ay nakaramdam ako ng pait sa aking sistema.

Both Jane and Leigh is now happily married. Ikinasal si Jane kay Kuya Asher at ngayon, may dalawa na silang anak. Si Raze at Raylee. Mga inaanak kong napakagwapong bata. I mentally smiled. Jane opens a Music Academy, two years ago. Si Kuya Asher naman, he was now the Vice Chairman of MonteJewel.

As for me, ako ang naging Chairman ng kompanya.

Si Leigh naman, ayun, kasal na kay Ken Anderson. May dalawa silang anak na babae at ngayon, balita ko buntis daw ulit si Leigh at babae ulit. I teased her yesterday about her pregnancy. I told her that she's so inlove with Ken kaya tig-isang taon lang ang agwat ng mga anak nila. The pregnant woman slapped my arm then laughed. Ramdam ko pa ngayon ang hapdi ng pagkakasapak ni Leigh sa akin.
