Alexander's POV

She looked at me one last time with hurtful, teary eyes which broke my heart. It felt like someone just punched me in the gut. I wanted to go and stop this. I wanted to ask her about everything. But I didn't. Smirking at tired looking Rose, Amanda closed the door force shut it at her face.

Author's POV

"Why? He asked

"What Why? Amanda asked in confusion. She didn't understood what Alexander was implying

"Why did you say that to her?" His voice was strained

"What did I say?" she scoffed not knowing Alex's eyes getting dark in rage

"Don't play with me Amanda"

"I'm playing? ( She laughed) And what? you're defending her now? That ugly fat slut of your's, Do you started to have feelings for her?for your new wife?" She raised her voice at him in disbelief

But little did she know who she's really dealing with. It's none other than Alexander, the great Alexander Richardson, who is cold hearted to everyone except his family, who won't leave any stone unturned when it comes to punish who is against him.

He snapped his head at her, in a flash he was standing infront of her wrapping his hands around her throat

"Who do you think you are?" He asked as his voice menacingly low

"Wh-what?" She struggled to say it out

"I asked who the fuck are you to raise your voice at me?"

"Ale-xa-nder yo-u are hu-rti-ng me"
He was not hearing anything she was saying as he only saw red

"P-lease. . . ple-ase" a tear slipped out of her eyes making him think about Rose. His hands around her throat loosened as he remembered her broken, vulnerable form with tears streaming down her cheeks. He left her throat fully. He never ever raised his hands at a woman before. But today. . . He did that. He wasn't sure what he was feeling. He got angered up hearing all the insults Amanda threw at Rose

But why?

Didn't he think she's nothing but a gold-digger ?

Didn't he thought she's acting all being innocent?

Then why?

He could not find answers to his own questions

"Ale-Alexander" Amanda called him rubbing her paining throat. Closing his eyes he turned around

"Be in your limits and don't . . . Don't ever raise your voice at me and now. . . . . . answer my question"

"I-I Just said i-it to make he- her stay away fr-from you, le-letting her know th-that sh-she's no one to you" she said stuttering. She couldn't really say or decipher the reaction on Alexander's face as she said that. So she took it as a chance to go close to him

"I'm here for you baby, yo-you know that I love you right?" She added with a bit confidence

He laughed like it was some joke. Because he knew it was a lie

"And you Amanda, you know that I don't. . . . . love you, right?"

She didn't say anything because she knew what he said is true

"I asked you something" he raised his voice

"Ye-yes yes I know" she said nodding her head vigorously. But regaining her posture she approached him seductively, probably thinking to change his mood and mind. It was really surprising to see her all demeanour changed suddenly
