It was over, the evils of Stonewall Prep had been vanquished, and life in Riverdale more or less picked up where it had left off. But at its heart, Riverdale was and is a wicked little town. So no one was surprised when a third round of sinister video tapes was delivered to our doorsteps.

Stop. Rewind.

Whatever ominous introduction you just read from Jughead, you can ignore it. It's probably true and something is haunting in Riverdale, but we aren't worried about Riverdale today.

In a much-needed fashion, Felicity and I quite literally packed our bags (and my dog) and jumped in the car to make the drive for some time away. We weren't missing much from a school standpoint as I knew Kevin was working on reviving the school's variety show, which I had no interest in participating in.

Felicity called her aunt, who was more than ecstatic to see the two of us, and said she would come help when we arrived. I was more than grateful to get the time away from the chaos of life and spend some quality time with other people for once.

"I've only heard stories about your aunt, minus the short moment of meeting her," I said as I continued to drive on the highway. "Are you sure she won't mind me bringing Mocha?"

Felicity waved her hand in my direction, dismissing the idea. Her face was lit up by the glow of her phone screen as she scrolled through social media. "May is chill as fuck. She quite literally will take your dog and love him as if he is her firstborn child."

"Good to know," I hummed and finally got off the highway exit which subjected us to the busy traffic of New York City. Felicity did her best to help me navigate despite the stressful environment. I'd been running off adrenaline since this morning so the late hour on the clock was finally catching up to me.

Not a second after I parked the car did one May Parker come flying out the door of the apartment building. She was overjoyed and scooped her niece into a tight hug, mumbling about it having been too long.

I climbed out of the car, smiling as I watched the two of them reconnect after time away. It was so heartwarming to see a responsible adult caring for their loved one, which was something Riverdale lacked these days.

"Savanna, come here!" May hugged me next, swooping me into her warm embrace. I could smell her fresh laundry with a hint of something burning, which left me to guess she had been cooking at some point.

"Hi, May. It's so good to see you!" I squeezed her tightly for a moment before we separated. "Thank you for letting us come on short notice."

She cupped both of my cheeks between her palms. "You, my dear, are always welcome. Come on. I'll grab your bags and let's head inside. It's still chilly out here."

Spring weather wasn't kicking in yet, so I agreed with her statement as the night breeze whipped around us. I quickly grabbed my purse and Mocha's leash from the backseat as May and Felicity emptied the trunk.
