"Mabel Anne Douglas," Someone called out, I quickly stood up off the bench I was sitting on, walking to the door and an officer led me out, he handed me my phone and necklace, other than that there wasn't much of a release procedure, it was quick and simple. I walked out the front doors and the first thing I noticed that Lip wasn't there alone, there was some older blonde lady who was with him.
"Hi, Lip," I greeted him, "And... uh, you?" I said in a confused tone, looking her up and down in an attempt to get a read on her.
"Helene, I am one of Phillip's professors," She told me, I slowly turned my head to look at him, he avoided eye contact, looking towards the ground. It was obvious what was going on, there was tension, "I'm actually surprised that he never took the time to mention me before," She laughed softly before I turned to look at her again.
"Yeah, me too, Helene, me too," I said as she turned to go up to her car. Lip stood there and finally cleared his throat to speak to me.
"I forgot to mention that she was taking me to come get you," He said to me, his body language was giving it all away, he was awkward and didn't seem right.
"It is so nice of your professor to just give you rides all hours of the night," I said to him in a sarcastic tone.
"Listen," He was going to try to defuse the situation before it got any worse, but I wasn't just going to sit there and let him walk all over me. I was already upset over the Ian situation, but this was really the icing on top, it was obvious that he was sleeping with her but he didn't want to up and say that.
"Lip," I said quietly, "I am tired of listening, it was Amanda first, now this... Are you sleeping with her? No, no, don't answer, I know the answer. It's alright, thanks for showing up but I'll walk, I can walk."
Lip let out a sigh, "Mabel, you don't have to do that," I put a hand up to shush him.
"Maybe next time let me know before you decide you're bored of me and move on to the next girl? Make it easier?" I let out a scoff before I turned around and walked away from him.
Helene watched from her car, rolling her window down to talk to me, "Phillip's a lovely kid, very smart," She told me.
"He's a real fucking genius, ain't he?" I shouted as I continued to walk away from them, "Fucking idiot," I said to myself as I continued to walk home.

The following day, I went to work as usual and helped Fiona out with waiting tables, Sean wasn't at the restaurant yet, it was unlike him to not show up on time, I walked to the table I had just closed out to clean up, "Fi? Have you heard from Sean yet?" I asked her as I walked around the other side of the counter.
"Uh, no, not yet," She said to me, "I'm sure he'll be in soon," She was looking over some orders at the kitchen, she then turned around, forcing a smile. She was stressed with that and the fact we were visiting Ian today, I was antsy because of the whole situation too, I was ready to get out of the diner and to see Ian to see what we could do to help him. Sean finally walked in after a few minutes, "Everything alright?" She asked him, "You're late."
