Max groaned the exact moment he awakened, partially blinded by the light filtering through the shades covering the window. He tightened his eyes, grabbed his head that continued to aggressively pound. The night before had been exactly what he expected, but that didn't mean he had gotten any better at coping with the morning after. He had snorted a few too many white lines, and licked a few too many jello vodka shots off the tits of that random girl that had clung to him all night. He couldn't even remember the color of her hair, let alone her name, but he did recall that she was a well-known honey trap, being passed around to whoever would pay for her nail extensions and Gucci handbags. Luckily he hadn't fucked her, that would have been a disaster. He leaned up, feeling physically sick, the vomit bubbling in his stomach. He put his head in his hands, letting out a tight seethe of pain by the lips.

The girl

His head shot up at the thought, his raven hair sticking out in all directions. He couldn't hear her singing. He got up from the bed, walked over to the dresser, and slammed his hand on the switch for the monitor. it lit up, revealing the room next door. But, no girl. His heart stopped in his chest, and now the panic set in, the adrenaline kicked in. He ripped open his door, immediately sighting the ajar door to the left. Her door was open, she was gone

Motherfucker!

She had to be there! maybe out of sight but she was there. He hurried into the room, ripping open the door to the closet, kicking open the door to the bathroom, watching as it hit the wall and snapped back from the force.

"Harmony?" he slammed his fist on the wall, gaining no response. FUCK FUCK FUCK

"Lancy!" he hollered at the top of his lungs, hurrying down the stairs, pulling out his phone as he walked down the hall, about to put the entire building on lockdown. She couldn't escape, it would cost him too much, even though she hardly knew anything it was still too much. He was frantic, passing by every room. It was when he passed the living room that a sudden blob from the corner of his eye caused him to stop dead by step, frozen in place for only a moment before he turned back. He peered through the entrance to the living room, immediately sighting one thing out of place. Amongst the white couches, the coffee table, the television, and whatever stupid, pointless nicknacks. The young girl lay on the floor, her head pressed into one of the white fur-covered pillows from the couch. Her side slowly rose and fell as she breathed deeply, facing towards the large, expansive window of a sunrise almost complete.

She had been given the perfect chance to escape, and instead, she had fallen asleep on the floor in the living room without a care like a fucking idiot!

He took a few steps into the room, leaning over her slightly to sight the side profile of her napping face

"She's a heavy sleeper" he snapped his head back to sight the older man as he spoke, standing at the entrance.

"You left her door unlocked, didn't you?" Max's teeth clenched. He should have thrown the old man out the door, he was strong enough, and he could have actually done it. Lancy had his fun at the expense of him, and it wasn't the first time either. He grunted, turning back to the sleeping woman. He used his booted foot to tap against her lower back, watching as her eyes fluttered open, shining in the light from sunrise. She turned over slightly, immediately freezing at the sight of the man standing over her, his eyes so furious her heart skipped a panicked beat. She grabbed at her chest with a hand as her heart convulsed, even though she knew it would do nothing to ease the sudden sharp pain.

"You have one hour! ONE! hear me?!" he snapped with ferocity. She could only nod, only half-aware of her own actions before she watched him storm out of the living room "YOU BETTER BE BACK IN THAT ROOM IN ONE FUCKING HOUR!" his voice boomed as his heavy boots stomped up the stairs and his bedroom door slammed. The scariest moment in her life, and now only the moment after it was over and her adrenaline crashed. She groaned, falling back onto the floor like a ball draining air, trying to calm her racing breath and bruised heart.
