Step 29: Do all the difficult tasks early on.

"I heard you help brother bonds." Baby addressed me. 

"I help what now?" 

"Brother bonds." 

"...Thanks, that makes so much sense."

"You're welcome." 

I gave the two eyeballs behind the mask an unimpressed stare. 

The two eyeballs stared back at me blankly.  

"What is a 'Brother Bond'?" I deliberately asked. 

"A bond between brothers."

I should have just guessed.

While the kids were either dozing off or cleaning up old and new wounds, I continued interviewing the ANBU Baby.

"I have a brother who's sick. I need your help." 

"...I am not a doctor." 

"But according to my intel, you have widespread knowledge of many people. That means, you know the best medical care he can receive," Baby pressed. "I just need to know who or where to take him and make him all better!" 

I sighed. 

"Okay then...first, what's your brother's name?" 

"I cannot say." 

I exhaled again. "Right. What does your brother look like?"

"I cannot say." 

"Is this an older brother, a younger brother, a twin...?"

"I cannot say." 

Very helpful indeed.

I guess I don't really need to know exactly which character Baby's brother is. Someone is sick, and I know someone with medical expertise. 

"If you want someone to treat your brother, I know Lady Tsunade is very capable. But I don't remember where to find her." 

"We can help you!" 

I jerked my head towards Naruto. "We can?"

"You'd help me?" Baby looked hopefully at him.  

"Yeah! With me, it'll be easy!" 

"With everyone it'll be easier," Sakura hissed. 

"Oh right." 

"I think helping each other is logical," Shino added. "I too, want to save my brother. I can understand your feelings--" 

"I-I don't have feelings!" Baby immediately snapped back. "...ANBU operatives don't have any feelings." 

"My apologies--your...goal to find someone to treat your brother," Shino amended. 

"Right." Sasuke tacked on vaguely but briefly. He didn't give any further information. 

I shot a glance at him then turned back to the Baby. "He wants to avenge his brother, I think." 

Sasuke nodded at my explanation. 

"We also want to bring back Sensei! She's not a bad person and it's not right for her to be in prison when she hasn't done anything wrong," Sakura added. 

"That's right." 

"Yeah!" 

"We also need someone who can help treat Hinata too."

I worriedly looked over at Pasty Pale. "Hey, are you okay?"

Hinata smiled back at me. "I-I'm good. Jus-st need s-some res-st."

"Then we can help each other," Shino concluded. "We'll first avenge Sasuke's brother, thereby keeping Sensei safe, and then go find the person who can treat both Hinata and your brother." 

"And see if she can help us with Sasuke's curse mark," I agreed. 

The Cursed Problem Child is completely covered in the curse mark. I've pretty much forgotten what he normally looks like. And since Orochimaru is out of the question, we're gonna hope that Lady Tsunade knows a thing or two about helping the kid out. 

"What do you say?" Shino asked Baby. 

"Let's do it."
